He is an attacking player who has no assists and two goals from his last ten games, and those two goals came in the same game.


In terms of his attacking contribution, and that is his main function in the team, I think saying he is just below par is being kind.


Now he is not alone in his current form, Coutinho for example has one assists (against Plymouth) and no goals from the last ten games he has played in for us, but his form as an attacker has been poor for a while now.


Actually just dug up Lallana's stats as I was typing this post and he is on one goal and one assist from his last ten games (and those came in late December).


All three of those guys are not poor players, but I think it more than fair to say that as attacking players they have collectively given very poor return for some time now.

Here's hoping that they return to form soon and with a hell of a bang.

Considering the opposition we've faced and the actual performances, it's a dreadful return for such a good player. Same goes for Lallana and not only have both players mentioned not scored or assisted many, their general play and performances has been pretty ****.

I would have zero issues if Firmino and Lallana were putting in good shifts but just not getting the production or vice versa but unfortunately it's both at the moment.

I like him as a player but I don't think that long term he should be the main central striker, I get that Klopp likes a good all round player but Firmino doesn't score enough goals or score consistently enough to play that role long term IMO. We need at least one player in the side who we can depend on for goals when no-one else is really scoring and we don't have that at the moment. Earlier in the season when everyone was chipping in that was fine but when times are tough you really need a natural goalscorer to get you a tap-in or a scruffy goal that bounces in off his arse and I don't really think anyone in the squad offers that at the moment.

said this yesterday, we need a goal scorer who we can rely on to bang in the goals. It seems we are so concerned with this team ethic, pressing and work rate, that's all well and good but give me a Fowler, Romario, Van Nistelrooy any day of the week. Guaranteed goals which win you games.
