He's a talented guy no doubts but he has been awful.

He reminds me of Luis Garcia at times; looks brill when he nonchalantly puts a ball on a sixpence or turns away from someone, looks ****e when he nonchalantly passes it straight to the opposition for the 7th time in a row

He needs to adapt to the physicality and the pace of the league. Newcastle were up for it today, and a few of our players couldn't handle it i.e. Firmino.

definitely struggling with physicality and tempo of the league. Seems to want too much time on the ball.

For sure he's not been the same player as at hoffenheim. Coughing up possession too easily.

But he's not helped by some expectations about him because of his fee and nationality. He was worth 15mil and isn't the type of Brazilian to be skinning people left right and centre.

I think maybe some thought he'd be like a version of Suarez which is also not true/unfair. Hopefully he starts performing like his hoffenheim days soon because he was great there.

He's clearly been lacking for the majority of or games but not sure it's this. The Bundeslegia is a pretty physical league.

It's the pace rather than physicality. He looks far too slow - he may get better when he doesn't have to play with a lumbering, static totem pole in front of him who offers nothing.

Both lack pace and both are polar opposites. I think when both are settled they'd look better together, but I don't think it's ever gonna be a match made in heaven.

His best performance was when he played with Coutinho and Lallana. Benteke will score goals, but he's not suited to players around him and as a team we generally play better without him and Firmino seems to suffer more than most.

It's also not fair to pin Firminos poor performances on benteke. This morning against Newcastle the mistakes he made were sloppy, some were very simple passes/decisions that had nothing to do with Benteke.

He doesn't demand the ball enough. He's too timid. Just floats about and is very casual with his passes. It is his first season over here though and I think it will take a while to adapt properly.

I've noticed that in a few games with him all right, he seems to under hit a lot of passes although a number of our players suffered from that yesterday.

I have faith that he will come good though and with time and the right players around him he'll do very well for us.

He's got a deft type of passing style but, in a high intensity game, maybe it;s not suited.

Forget comparing to Luis Suarez, comparing to Luis Garcia appears to be unfair based on his performance here. He was brilliant against City but has been poor otherwise. Hopefully he settles down and gets used to the pace soon.
