Thanjk you.

I'm just hoping he's taking time to play his way into another countries league, he's exactly the type of player i'd have looked at and said....but will he fancy it on a cold rainy night in Georgia Stoke.
I still have some (blind) faith that he'll come good. Some very good judges who saw him weekly in Germany swear he's more than up to it. Football isn't black and white like that - good player, so therefore it'll work out at whatever club. I'm sure he is a good player, and doubtless if he left us he'd be very good wherever he went. But we are a weird and dysfunctional club at at the moment, so I'm giving him time to show what he can do.

Certainly pretty invisible on Sunday. As was Phil unfortunately. With only 9 putting in a stint and several of them hopelessly out of touch, the result was inevitable.
Christmas and yet again our goal difference is negative.
Thing that gets me is that everybody was raving over him in Germany and saying how he was the profile of player we should be going for but never do.
As someone who'd hardly seen him play before we signed him, were those people exaggerating how good he was (though the stats looked to back them up) or has he just horribly underperformed so far in all but 2 games?
Who'd rather have Danny Ings available over Firminho right now?
Yup I think that desire and work rate of Ings would be a welcome sight in this current side.
We do tend to over rate and over hype our players IMO, I suppose other fans from other clubs would do the same. I watched a bit of Firmino alright previous, his work rate was good, stats were good & even his tackling was good (high ratio of tackles won etc).
Talk about being hugely disappointed, apart from the City game... he has been pretty awful. Not only poor football wise, but more worrying is his work rate is terrible, seems to be running in treacle & is struggling hugely with the physicality of the league IMO.
It's early days for him no doubts and I'm not writing him off, but you do expect your marquee signings to hit the ground running more so than the standard signings. He's obviously very good technically, but he wants so much time on the ball & may have got that in Germany.
The way I see it is this, even if a player is out of form or just not playing well, the very least thing they can do is work their bollox off and get stuck in.... Firmino is not even doing that. So many games you actually forget he's even playing, which is never a good thing. What I would say though is that, we know he is good technically that's a given and even his passing and touch have been way off, so maybe he's just out of form or struggling to adapt.....hopefully it's that and not that he's just ****
Dangerous to write off a player too quickly. We were all doing that with Sterling after THAT Hull game, and he turned into a £50m player subsequently. That said, Sterling was a very young lad, and with Firmino's experience he should know how to at least put a shift in when things aren't going well. At the moment he looks like the sort of player that looks great when the team is playing well, but not the sort that will drag you out of the mire when things are going badly. And we need at least a couple more of the latter.
Actually thinking about it there are lots of similarities between that Hull game and this Watford one (including Skrtel being **** against big strikers) - both in december, both games we expected to win, both on a Sunday, same abject-****ness from our team...I'd take the same unbeaten run to give us a title challenge in the new year if that's on offer!

Ha! And for both games I had a stinking hangover and I went to the very same pub after both games. Fingers crossed.

Another meh performance today but then he provides the bit of spark we need & gets the assist for the winning goal. Hope he kicks on from that now.
He's a player that if we get him adjusted we will be adding a finishing touch to our build up play. We need this lad to click & that'll only happen with games.
Anyone who watched him at Hoffenheim would stick with him, sometimes imports struggle with the frantic and physical nature of the game in England add to that injury, Rodgers deathly football, the continued absence of the one player Bobby needs - Sturridge and its not a shock he is having a low key debut season. That said he needs to take more care with the ball, he can be very slack in his passing.
We need to find his best position and get settled players around him, IMO he's a decent player but he looks as though he needs to develop and understanding with his strike partner (if he's playing in a front 2) or the striker and other attacking mids in other systems, we are have way through the season and haven't had a settled front line, we've had Benteke in and out of the side, Sturridge playing the odd game, Ings in for a while, Origi in for a while, Firmino as the striker. All those players want different things and the constant changing can't help the midfielders create chances for them, I think that's part of why we have scored so few goals.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

His best position is the same position as Coutinho.......so he is a 29m back up......sitting next to another 25m back up....
When Klopp gets the squad he wants then it will be difficult to see firmino playing every week.... That said, he should get chances to prove us all wrong because of the injuries we have this season.....
