No chance. Get used to Firmino starting as Klopp loves him in that role. Mane and Salah will hit 20+ each this season I reckon.

Didn't happen last season and won't this season. The only danger to Firmino is if Solanke gets some minutes and becomes undropable but that's unlikely.

Firmino would be my first name down on the sheet. Before Mane and Coutinho.

Every great player we have links up well with Firmino. I don't think that's a coincidence. He's a fulcrum.

For me to succeed as a 9 he needs to hold the ball up better. He isn't an out ball at all which means we can quickly be put under more pressure.

He's great when we have the ball though. He chases it down well, but he doesn't always do well when the ball is played up to him.

Compared firmino using some stats you'd want from a pressing forward. It's a clear toss up between Firmino and Coutinho. You could spin it a few ways by using totals or minutes to be kinder to Sturridge and Origi who didn't play much but bottom line is over the season Firmino is very effective in that false nine position (also Coutinho would be also but can have more of an impact from deeper as we've seen).

Yes and no. There were times he had two players on him and he still managed to turn and pass the ball off to one of ours. He's not a massive player but he uses his body weight so well like Suarez does.

                Isn't Milner on pelanty duty?

No it seems as though Bobby is our penalty taker this year (now that Milner has lost his LB slot).

I think Milner is still probably first choice when he is on the pitch, but obviously that is much less frequently now than last season, so Firmino will probably take most of them
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Mad. Again, I think you're confusing the importance of a player in his position with him personally. I think the attributes of a good 'false 9' have been reasonably well spelt out; good in the air, work rate, goal threat, distribution. Whereas you could retry much tick every box for Gerrard, so far work rate seems to be the only one that Firminho really excels at. Maybe distribution when he's really in form, which was about 18 months ago.

I prefer a 30 goal a season striker, but accept he does "a job" for the team.

At the end of the day, scoring a few extra goal are not liky to make much difference compared to conceeding a few less. Id rather we concentrated at that end by cutting out the errors, of that mesns a new back line then so be it.

I just feel that Moreno, Mig and Lovren (the three stooges) are a bad influence on each other (and the rest of the team) in terms of confidence and positioning... and we really need to be rid of all three before we can be confident of a professional performace on a consistant basis.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Our attackers are the least of our problems, Firmino is just fine. Our 2 CBs, leftbacks and all midfielders need sorting out sorting out, the attackers are carrying the team and have done for a while.

Surely we aren't as simple as to only address one issue at a time. Our attack wasn't our biggest issue last year either but we still bought Salah. In the last two games we had periods where we were way on top and created good breaks. Score one of the ones we missed against Watford and it's 2 more points, irrespective of our defensive **** ups.
