I think we need to tie them all down ASAP. I think players will in the furture run their contracts down more regularly in light of higher transfer fees. Get Firmino a 5 year contract and Emre too, heck Sadio as well.

Wenger thinks the same. It makes sense. Why have the club's getting all the money for you. I can see 50m signing on fees a thing. Only thing is I think that will bump up the price of football even more. If a club can't make a profit on a player that is one less revenue stream.

Hadn't thought about transfers as a revenue stream, although most big deals now seem to revolve around young players, maybe that's what will be left, big deals for young players which will be a good source of revenue for some teams.
