I Do think being proactive and making runs would raise the chance of him scoring and doing better, however I don't think he's lazy. surely if you were lacking in confidence then you would avoid getting in a position where you felt likely to mess up again. Which is why he's often spotted lurking, with little intent.
I don't think you can just berate him and expect him to return to his best. It's like that Troy Mclure self help video "Get confident, Stupid!"

He's not for us, but he's much better than we are seeing right now. His confidence is zero. Needs one to go in off his backside, yet he's rarely in the ****ing box. I feel for him. Whereas as Enrique I ****ing dislike a lot.

He's worse than Carroll ever was. He's ****ing atrocious. Can't/won't run, can't control a ball, lacks intelligence to make good runs, is always on his heels when a good ball is played, can't shoot for ****, is so lacking in self belief he gets the ball in the middle of the goal and lays it off instead of doing his job.

Other than that he's alright like.
