Don't know if it's worth much. But on that Premier League preview last night Henry rated Benteke as the best forward in the league at the moment. Interesting as lots seem to think he's one dimensional.

I am/was one. Hope I am wrong as that goal in preseason was outstanding.

Problem I have with Henry's statement is his timing. He wasn't giving Bento this sort of high praise when he was at Villa. Pundits and headline statements, etc.

Maybe he didn't see a lot of him.

Benteke has never been static and one dimensional. You could see that he could link up play, make runs in behind and play through the channels, but he had a **** midfield to feed on.

He will have to step up, but he has the qualities.

Is he a soft lad like Heskey or does he put himself about? Haven't seen enough of him & can't really judge him against our soft defence

yep. he will even smash lovren just for fun, just to keep his hand in.

Decent today, can do better. In the 2nd half he came deep to collect the ball and link up which he hardly done in the 1st half. He was isolated though so it's understandable.
He is a big physical player which we have not had for years.
One thing for sure he can score goals if provided with chances.

You'd worry about the players tendency to hoof it up to him, happened a bit too much yesterday. Doesn't help him and certainly didn't help us much, especially with nobody running off him.

I thought big Chris had a decent game yesterday with what he was given, the service wasn't great and he was isolated a lot.

Won some good headers and knocked it down on a couple of occasions, think he would have slotted it home had Henderson not been so rash with the volleyed cross from millers chip.
