To me he's too static doesn't work hard enough and doesn't get in the box enough and when he does he doesn't attack the ball anywhere near enough

Yeah had enough now. He's infuriating, doesn't even win any of his battles either unless they are 90/10 in his favour. And whats with the massive struggle to complete 2 or 3 yard lay offs?! We aren't creating enough so it's not just his fault but it'd be nice if he actually moved or anticipated stuff, a bit of movement can often turn a **** looking cross or pass in to a good one like Sturridge does all the time. I think he's a decent player, the problem is he isn't what we need.

I said when we signed him that I thought he would get ~10 goals for us in the season because of his ability regardless of whether he was able to adapt into the player we needed him to be to suit our system - which I had my doubts about at the time. And I think that is proving to be the case, he isn't able to play in the system we seem to want or need to play and his goals come in isolation rather than decent team moves and link up play. As a result our play is disjointed and he is constantly not involved in the game for large parts. Like I say he is a decent player but I don't think he is what we need. The most damning thing about the goalscoring ability of this side is that despite all that he has scored more goals than anyone. The side that started today had scored 12 PL goals between them this season and Benteke has 6 of those (Coutinho 5 and Firmino 1)

He is **** I am afraid. His problems are the same as his problems at Villa and for Belgium.

I think it is also fair to say that he negatively affects our play too.

He doesn't move though, so it's not as simple as blaming the other players. He doesn't run, chase, offer himself, move defenders to create space.

When the game is tough he vanishes and appears to mark the opposing CBs.

His first touch is incredibly heavy.

His goal scoring has been useful but his overall play is woeful. I wouldn't have him near the team if the other 3 were fit.

Problem is that our supporting cast work better with pace and movement, that's not Benteke's fault. That said he was poor today. We need to find a way to work with him for the run in because he is what we have.

I don't think he can be relied upon - its fair enough missing with his regularity if we're constantly creating great chances, but we're not. Sure a lot of that lies with the supply, but whatever they do create, 9 times out of 10 results he mis-controls, makes the wrong decision or is just on a different planet to those fumbling about trying to get the ball to him.

His performances are so much worse than anything we saw from Robbie Keane, and he was bounced out by the next available transfer window. I'd love it if Villa came in with a lowball offer to take him back, because this isn't ever going to work out.

He's not good enough to have a team built around him. He's just not at the level where you would gear everything towards getting the best out of him.

maybe we could try a half way house though, like never pairing him with Firmino again, or playing him alongside Origi or Sturridge when they are available
