Firmino 29m ( Easily could be Ace )
Lallana 25m ( Overpaid but good player )
      Markovic 20m ( Could come good 50/50 )
Lovren 20m (Starting to look like a player )
Balotelli 16m ( Right up there with El HAdji Cunt for terrible signings )
      Sakho 16m ( Bargian )
Allen 15m ( It happens .. not great nor as bad as people make out )

          Thats a wildly optimistic assessment

I think you're living in the past with the valuations. Football has gone made in terms of footballers transfer values.

Fellani - £27M springs to mind.

The players cost what they cost, and there is no way around the fact that all players from major leagues cost silly money now. Our list shows that, so does Uniteds, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham etc.

Out of the list I still think Firmino and Markovic will become valuable to us under Klopp. Seems to have a lot of what it takes in them. Lallana is a maybe, can't really figure right now. Sakho is very good and will be a stable and Lovren looks decent squad player.

Only really outs for me right now are Allen and Balotelli that I can't see offering anything meaningfull and Benteke is very much on the way out, but may fight back if he manages to change his style - which is doubtfull tbh.

But generally I think we have to accept that players cost 15m+ now and in most cases 20m+ for a good established player.

                Really??

                N'Golo Kante £5.6m
                Odion Ighalo - free
                Riyad Mahrez £350K

Personally I think Fellaini was just another ****e buy

They never should have touched him

The market is inflated but it doesnt mean you should just throw money after ****e

I wouldnt have touched Fellaini at £27m, or Benteke at £32m, or Lovren at £20m, or Allen at £15m or Borini at £12m

We have quite literally wasted money over successive transfer windows whilst at the same time bringing in nearly £120m for the sales of Suarez & Sterling

Whilst I wasnt against those sales there is absolutely no argument that we have wasted the money we got for them

Thats exactly it. The cost mentioned doesnt note the wages also, which is a fairly large factor.

Thats all well and good if you are actually getting a good established player when you spend £20m+

When was the last time we actually did that???

                    For me its Suarez's purchase

With regards to Firmino & Markovic its all if's, but's & maybe's. I'm not convinced either will make it here

I think its fair to argue that Lallana, Lovren and Benteke were good established players.

Now if they are good enough for us is a different question.

                        Oh come on

A big question for me is how many other clubs were competing for those players at the prices we paid for them?

Not many which lends me to thinking they weren't as good or established as you might be thinking

It was a response to Kev but you also have to consider the clubs buying the likes of us, Chelsea etc... will always pay inflated prices compared to the likes of Watford and Leicester for example.

All clubs waste money on players and get a number of signings wrong, we seem pretty bad at it but that seems to the way of football these days.

Nobody is perfect in the transfer market but our record over the last 5 or 6 years is ****ing woeful

Who's to say those players wouldn't have crumbled if we signed them instead of their respective teams.

Leicester and Watford have much lower expectations and smaller squads so there's more time to integrate them into a pattern of play and there's less pressure on them to succeed.

That said, I'd have all three in the team right now.

Thats hard to argue but lets face it we are spending £20m plus on players who are crumbling

They are spending buttons on them

I just think our transfer dealings have been very poor over the last 5 or 6 years and we appear to be getting worse at it
