Instead of waiting for the ball to reach him? Yes he got the assist again but he is so un-dynamic its not a joke.

In his defence I'll say because if that ball is stood up or goes to the back post he can run on to it and attack it.

I think that if you play 2 strikers, one getting in to the six yard box and the other looking for the pull back, the problem for me is that you play one striker he has to be the one getting into the 6 yard box and the midfielders have to be looking for the pull back.

Ibe there is putting in the right ball there, almost every week you will hear someone on MOTD going on about the 'corridor of uncertainty' where you force the defenders to deal with the cross if there is someone in there, if they know there isn't someone in there it's much less of a problem.

Actually, I don't think he understands his position well enough to know which runs to make and when.

He chooses the wrong option an uncanny amount of times though.

Also, had Lallana made a run in between the two defenders it would have been a simple tap in for him but he stayed at the far post for some reason

I don't blame Lallana - playing one of the 'wider' positions behind the striker his job is to get in the box on the back post, which is what he does, it's not his fault that Benteke hasn't made is run.

looking at that picture it seems as a team we don't gamble , Ibe only had one player to aim for in that screenshot.

Benteke may not work out at LFC, certainly isn't good enough at the moment but playing him one up top, not a chance will he show anything in that... he just can't play as a lone striker. It is quite infuriating watching how static he is though. He doesn't do the players crossing the bal in any favours & their poor standard of crossing doesn't do him any favours. It's a general ****fest.

Yeah he's dying a death playing one up top. The criticism of him is just but I don't think it's fair to say that he's suddenly a "****" player. As a lone striker for us though he has been **** though.

I'd like to see him play in a two up top with Firmino/Sturridge. Just for curiosity sakes before we write him off. Unfortunately though Klopp doesn't play that way & moving the team around to accommodate Benteke is a bit of a stretch.

Anyways, personally I'd like to see how he would do in a two before we bin him. Exeter would be a perfect game for it IMO.
