I thought he already had an agreement with Palace? Everyone was reporting it these past two days...

Not really.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostThe grounds that he is having to drop down a level and play for a smaller team and there is loads of money available now due to TV money. All reasonable requests.
I'd imagine he is on a fair whack with us (rumours are £140k a week). Why should he cripple a smaller team's potential wage structure? And if Palace were to wilt, what would stop other players demanding parity? Just because there is a stupendous amount of money now in the game, it shouldn't give players any more power than they already have.
He should be happy with the opportunity to play football. If he tried last season, he might have the pick of a number of clubs.

He took a pay rise to join a higher level club and he should take pay rise for joining a lower level club? No chance, he can just **** off if that's the case. If this isn't true than my apologies of course

Nearly all players are mercenaries. He's at Liverpool and could stay and just pick up the wages. Crippling another clubs wage structure is hardly going to bother the morals of a modern day footballer or his agent.Originally posted by Muddled View PostNot really.

I'm not disagreeing with you when you say he should be happy to play, but that's not what it's about today with most of these players. I'd expect his pride/ego to be hurt and so having to take a step down should in his view come with a reward. If that's fleecing his new club for all he can get, so be it.
I think some of you get confused with what's right and how the game of football now is with the obscene money involved. Once you realise its been spoilt, soiled and beyond moral reprieve then it's easier to accept it for what it now is. On the subject of Benteke, has this sack of **** been sold yet or wha?Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
