His entire arguement is Klopp exploded at the presser and abused him in front of everyone during the presser, yet he nor anyone else seem to be able to say what was said other than claim Klopp spent the entire presser ranting.

Then when he is called on it he suddenly starts claiming the presser was 18 minutes long.

He basically wants to slag Klopp off and accuse Klopp of saying stuff yet does not have to prove his own side of it at all.

Do find it funny that it has gone from Klopp ranting for the entire presser to now it being Klopp ranting for the bit Williams claims is missing.
If there’s segments that remain embargoed, then he can’t reveal the details.
Though it would be better if he said nothing at all rather than pussyfoot around it.

Is Williams claiming that he personally was attacked by Klopp? I didn’t pick that up from what he’s said.

It in theory means nobody can give a "version" of the press conference within moments of it ending. The idea being everyone present then has time to report what was said in an acurate manner and publish hours or a day or so later.

The reality is that that "dead air" period is often now used to try and create news where there is no news.
Thanks. But another question...why do they not do that for the whole presser then? Put another way, is there something different about the embargoed part of the presser that means it is more deserving of extra time to ensure it is reported accurately?

The first half of the press conference is pre match stuff relating to the game.

The section that gets held back is often something else, not specifically related to the upcoming fixture. Embargoing it gives the media a fresh story to release later on.

Press embargoes are normal in PR and in the main, journos honour them.

For me, Klopp was actually less annoyed and far more calm and assured than he has been in his previous few press conferences. He wasn’t tetchy, wasn’t shouty, was quite assured and authorative. Handled it well.

Whichever journo is saying he ‘lost it’ looks a bit of a prick and self-publicist…

Could be first time in a good few years we don't get Europe this year. Stinker of a season

Being in the UCL is attractive to players, but I suspect the others don't have much of a pull and probably don't generate much in the way of ££££s.

I’d like to think that klopp should have enough credit, that he could afford another season similar to this one, and still be given another summer to put it right, but in reality, that probably wouldn’t happen. It feels a little like Rodgers last full season- where if he starts next season similarly, he could be gone by Christmas. This is a worrying thought, as klopp usually eases new players into the team, whereas now we kinda need the summer signings to not only be successful, but also hit the ground running.

I think in terms of magnitude of the rebuild needed, for the most part I don’t blame klopp for it- I wanted Keita and ox moved on, for years, but apart from that was pretty happy with our squad at the start of the season, even if ideally I’d have wanted 1 more midfielder (or Arthur melo to contribute anything). This is on the players for me- Trent, van dijk, Henderson, Matip, Gomez, Fabinho have all gone off a cliff this season, and none of us saw it coming. A few others have been mediocre too, robbo etc, but for me these 6 are largely to blame for how the season panned out…

Klopp and his team has the tough job of deciding which of them can get back to where they were in previous seasons, and which ones we need to upgrade, in addition to replacing the few that are already leaving.

Europa is worth about £17m in prize money to the winner, plus match revenue. Not amazing but better than nowt

There’s a horrible arrogance in saying ‘I’d rather no European football than Europa’. I’d take it for sure if we miss out on CL. We need it. It is more games, more revenue. We have a big squad it will motivate them. It’s not ideal, but we aren’t ‘above it’ I hat that sort of elitist mentality.

It’s a route to the CL too, and we need those.

I want Europe - even the conference thing, more games and more experience for the squad + another trophy to play for

I bet some of the towns/cities you'd get to visit in the Europa are far more interesting than the **** in the CL.

Klopp should do what Fergie did, ban the journos that are looking for trouble then the journos will be no good to anyone if they cannot access the press conferences then as a warning to other journos who step out of line or continue to ask stupid questions.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Haha, Fergie wouldn’t have gotten away with that in this social media era…
