We are definitely better set up to attack rather than defend...
It does us well in the league and earlier stages of cup competition but given how long the season has been and fatigue has virtually killed our running and goal scoring it may have been better to set up a more solid midfield. But I don't think we have the players for that.

But doesn't an 80% loss rate indicate more than just bad luck? That the unbelievably exciting and entertaining system and style that brought us to compete at the final stage of 4 competitions is also unsuited to finals where nuance and guile and pragmatism are needed?

I'm trying to exorcise the demons of Saturday by talking it through. I'm still gutted and looking for answers and it's only the fact that it was Ancellotti who I really like and respect (he's a kind of anti-Mourinho and like a Bob Paisley) that's keeping me from being actually miserable about it.

Of the three with Liverpppol, we had the Moreno debacle, then the Karius cluster****; this is the 1st one i think where the collective were to blame rather than the style or team selected.

Thiago was not fit & i thought the players struggled out of possession, really disappointing but not on Klopp as i think the majority of the fans would have selected the same 11 & changes we made.

I don't normally take much notice of them but what we're the xG for those finals (and perhaps the previous ones before this season). For this year's finals I would say we should probably have scored at least 1 in all of them, just came up against GKs having better than normal days at work....

If you want to be critical, you could say our style of play leaves everyone knackered by the end of the season... maybe.

But he has also got us to 4 European finals and 2 domestic cup finals, having spent less than other teams with this style of play.

I think its fine margins, and **** didnt go our way. Afcon maybe disrupted Mo, but even then our actual form since was still amazing.
