The idea that the "transfer committee" is central to the transfers since Klopp arrived is just wrong. They are his men

As Klopp's current contract runs until 2018, it does seem curious. And it's made even more peculiar by the chat that there is no pay increase involved and it's purely the term being extended.

On paper it looks like we're rewarding two cup final appearances, but I guess FSG have seen their vision aligns with Klopp's and are keen to start the modern day version of the five year plan: a four year plan.

Going by our transfer activity thus far I reckon it's as simple as FSG wanting Klopp to be around to realise the potential of the players they are currently looking to purchase (Zielinski (22), Dahoud (20), Chilwell (19)).

Maybe its because they know that he is the right man and they want to tie him down rather than let it slip and him have glances from other bigger sides?

It's a valid point and makes sense to discuss it especially if there is no additional money involved for Klopp.
