It's taken a long time to get this far. There's nothing wrong with being healthily dubious, especially after a year and no signings of note over two transfer windows. The jury is still well and truly out for me.

Saying you're not sure about Klopp round these parts is getting like saying you don't think Corbyn can win an election at a Momentum rally.

I think we'd have seen a different summer window but for that cunting UEFA final.

There's been obvious improvements inot a year, surely we can all appreciate that.

A good manager can make an immediate difference, and some take a few months to get things improving. He's had his honeymoon period, now we need to see some consistent improvement this season. If we're still up and down for the next 6 months serious questions need to be asked.

Don't take this the wrong way, I don't expect us to be winning the league
but we need to be putting in a very strong push for 4th. Its not all about teeth, glasses and heavy metal, its about winning.

Couldn't agree more. Klopp's not an idiot, he's now had enough time to see our league at close quarters, and to work with all of our squad, and he must feel that he can challenge this year without spending any more than we have. This is his squad, as he himself has said, so he will quite rightly be held accountable* if we aren't seriously challenging come next May.

Personally I think he's being naive if he thinks that coaching alone can make the difference in this league. Your weaknesses are ruthlessly exposed by even the weakest teams. But, he knows more than me and obviously I hope he's able to pull it off.

(* I don't mean sacked by this - he should have at least three years regardless as long as we're not bottom half...)

You've heard it before because it's the norm, especially for teams that can't throw obscene amounts of money at the problem. Houllier, Benitez and Rodgers (not Hodgson) all had a plan over a number of years because you just can't charge in and implement changes over night.

We have seen improvements on the pitch (Chelsea, Manchester City, Everton, Manchester United and Dortmund) and of course, there are the annoying defeats to Newcastle, Burnley and Palace and that's key because we are going to be inconsistent - much like Rafa was - as they ... you've got it, implement their three, four or five year plan.

Klopps career with us so far is very reminiscent of Rafas. Rafa also had a challenge in changing the culture and style of the team, something that took him a couple of years to implement. What's good for me is that Klopp has a clear idea of what he wants and takes no prisoners in getting the results. He has a track record too. OK, he may fail, but I am very happy that he is our manager. We can see signs (the 20 min demolition of Arsenal, plus the games Muddled mentions) as to how effective this will be. There will be undoubted highs and lows as we build the squad and team, but a full season without Europe should give Klopp plenty of time to drill them.

Add into all this the Manc teams have spent the best part of £300m between them and have not faced any real challenges yet. Let's see how Mourinho gets on once Euro footy and bigger games come along.

Reminding me much more of Rodgers. Defensively naive exciting attacking football getting inconsistent results.

Only time will tell who he reminds us of in the end.

They both had inconsistent league form in their first season after prioritising Europe and lost in the LC final.

In Rafa’s second year, we had 1 win in our first 6 games, but finished the season on 82 points (which would have won last year’s title).

But we lost to Burnley obviously, you lose extra points for that, so the best we can hope for is to avoid relegation.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Ha ha! He's a big lad isn't he Klopp. Forget how big he is.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
