Don't think teams are intentionally trying to push us out wide

When I played you were always taught to bring people inside were you had numbers

What I think it happening is we aren't exploiting those areas as we should be

Need to switch the play quicker to exploit are width in wide areas

Surely that would depend on who the 'out wide' players are - Clyne and Milner are for us. Clyne is a good dependable defensive full back but is very poor in the attacking third and Milner is so predictable - cut back to right foot and **** cross.

If those were the players out wide I'd be letting them have the ball all day because they don't hurt you.

We have a number of other glaring issues in the squad but if this is Klopp's preferred way of playing then clearly our full backs are not good enough.

If you play with two wingers other than the full backs you need a big target man in the middle. Also, having two wingers doesn't allow you to pack the box with players. You have two less players who are on the wings. The system is fine.

We again missed a lot of sitters yesterday so we are still creating chances. It's the mentality over the course of the match which is lacking. Consistency has been a problem.

He played there in the first half against Wolves and was woeful. There was no imagination in passing and he looked cumbersome and slow.

Henderson was one of our better players yesterday. I think he's one of the best in his position in the league. He has grown into the role. I was doubtful he could do it myself at the beginning of the year. He maybe need more steady players around him maybe. Llallana in midfield is maybe too attack minded as he finds himself covering a lot of ground due to his offensive nature.

Lallana leads closing down though, or at least he did. He's crucial to how that midfield operates.

When we playing brilliantly last year, it was because Henderson and Wijnaldum were behind Lallana and all 3 never gave opponents a minutes peace. All 3 are good on the ball and are intelligent without

We don't get into those positions enough and end up crossing from stupid positions that don't threaten

Read John Barnes book about why he was so good at LFC it's because we got the ball to him quickly and early in wide positions so he could get to byline

We are too slow in all positions, teams can't cover width of pitch so defend the tramlines on 18 yard box and this frees up wide areas. It's about moving the ball quicker into those areas so that you are putting in dangerous threatening ball from nearer the byline

Again look at our goals v Chelsea and Swansea and those we scored in December. Huge amount of them came from wide positions near byline

They will let them have the ball wide until they get in line with penalty box then they double up on them and bring them inside. No team wants players getting to byline and putting balls across face of box. That's suicidal

I am also not sure TV shows the full picture of matches because the opposite flanks are frequently wide open and if we had the ability to quickly switch flanks Clyne and Milner would be in behind at least a dozen times a match

Agree. I'd like to see one pass to switch play not 2 or 3. Drives me nuts every time I see us play 10 yard passes across the pitch. How are we supposed to open gaps in the opposition defense if we allow them to move as a unit with the path of the ball

I think it's a mental (and decision making) problem. Coutinho had a mare yesterday. Once or twice we were in excellent positions (in the first half) but he either missed his pass or passed to the wrong player. When this happens a few times, but get into 'cautious' mode and try to play the safer pass.
