2 seasons now for klopp and a lovely new contract for Lovren and ****e defence....Mane,Salah and Firmino carrying the teamComment

We're not winning anything with that defence. ****ing infuriating that Moreno and Lovren are still getting games...Comment

he needs to choke some of these bellends and make them earn their money.
blah blah it is normal, blah blah, he is in a good place, just throttle lovren and we can move on.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.Comment

There are still too many individual errors though - 1st goal is a classic example, Lovren misses a clear and Moreno switches off.Comment

It's so frustrating that he puts so much emphasis on signing attackers yet doesn't bother fixing our CB situation.

A more compact system and even the addition of a DM in front of them (and we still need that) wouldn't iron out the individual mistakes some of these players make again and again. The only answer is in recruitment IMO.Comment

The system was 100% fine. It was fine against Watford and fine tonight. It was only slightly upset when Mane got sent off against City. If TAA and Wijnuldum didn't make those absolute howlers of individual mistakes against Watford we would have won it 3-1. Again if Lovren clears that ball we probably don't concede all night. Or maybe just the one from, you guessed it, another individual error.
The question I suppose you're asking is do we put our players in a position that causes them to make costly individual mistakes with the ultimate price being paid every single time? I would say no. TAA, Wijnuldum, Lovren were all extremely unforced errors with all these players in their correct positions. Their brain cells and individuality is something a manager, fan, etc, cannot control.
So the next question is, why pick such players? Well, that's one for Klopp. I'm not the manager with expensive sight glasses, an open cheque book and numerous transfer windows to my advantage. One tit for another.

if he insists on waiting for vvd till next summer and we dont get another decent defender in january then he needs kicking in the bollocks.

Yep, the system stuff is nonsense. And if we want to talk about the "system" then it actually limited the 4th best side in Spain to hardly anything, they barely got near our goal, it's not like we are open as hell and they cut through us 20 times and finally got two goals. Sure we can make tweaks here and there but the majority of the goals we concede aren't from being too open, it's being lazy, switching off etc or just a clanger. Can was a disgrace on the 1st and not much better on the 2nd and I've no idea what Lovren was even doing.
On the other side, I dont think "the system" makes us boss going forward either, having a load of boss attackers does that. We've got loads of attackers who'd fit in fine at Barca, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern, Juventus etc, how many of the midfield, defence or goalkeepers can we say that about? If we did a Leeds tomorrow and there was a fire sale who gets taken by top clubs? And there is the problem. Klopp walked in to a club conceding 50 a season and we've hardly spent a penny on trying to sort it out, it's utterly bizarre. Karius 4m - 5m, Matip 0, Klavan 4m, Robertson 10m. A keeper, a centre back, a back up centre back and a back up left back. So basically in 2 years we've tried to improve a side conceding 50 a season by signing a young goalie and a free transfer (fair enough Matip was a £20m we got for nothing because of the contract) but that's it really isn't it? And we wonder why we don't improve much.Comment

I wonder if Klopp wants to address this all next summer?
The first summer was working us out and deciding we had players he could improve, this summer was about attack and some reinforcements, next summer could be about defence?
Who the **** knows, I hope we sign Laporte or some other intelligent ******* defender. We definitely need two centre backs this January or next summer.
PS. John Stones scored a brace ffs!Was muComment

Fine against Watford? They scored 3 goals. We have conceded 13 goals in 7 games.
Brilliant attacking coach but I don't think he has the ability to coach a defensively resolute system or identify proper defenders at reasonable prices. Yes, we do concede a number of times by brainfarts but it has been two years and he has not felt the need to replace Moreno, Mignolet, and Lovren (rewarded with a brand new contract). He also got screwed big time by our failure to land VVD.Comment

I would love to know how many goals we have conceded from the individual mistakes of Lovren & Moreno. I bet it's shocking, Klopp has never really been able to set up a defence in his career to date but this is taking the piss. Never have I seen a team or squad that makes so many individual errors in games, it's ****ing infuriating. What is galling is that the same guys are making the same mistakes in every game. One step forward, two steps back. Why on gods green earth has Klopp not sorted this defence out at this stage or even improved it? There is no excuse, oh great we are getting a competitive midfielder next season & we may or may not go in for VDV or De Jrij next summer, that is ****ing useless to us now.
The fullback position are a joke. I give Clyne stick because he's **** going forward but he is a solid defender so the sooner he comes back the better. TAA is coming along nicely but will take time, Gomez is clearly not a RB and could he possibly do any worse at CB than Lovren or Klavan? Matip has started the season poorly but I cannot judge him playing beside not only a different partner every week but a **** different partner every week. No idea whats going on with Robertson or if he's any good but by god if it gets Moreno out of the side i'm all for it. Moreno did well in first half going forward but like in most games he cost us goals, that is never going to change the guy is wild and headless and his lack of awareness is truly something to behold.
As for that midfield trio, is there ever a game when all 3 guys play well. Ffs Wini (home game) was very good, Can after a great start to the season have reverted back in last 2 games & I genuinely worry about Henderson as LFC captain. Zero leadership skills. We always come back to the same weaknesses over and over and over. It's tedious at this stage.Last edited by danperkins; 14-09-17, 06:25 AM.Comment
