Someone (sort of) made the point in the match thread:
Why would Jurgen sub a defender in the last few minutes (except for injury).
It's not as if we don't struggle to defend anyway, but to start messing around with the combinations for the last few minutes just smacks of complacency.
I remember Rafa did it at OT once with Kromkamp (think it might have been his debut) and of course it all went tits up and the spawny ****ers won the game about 3 minutes later.

given that we were also quite **** defensively last year it seems that nothing has been done to address it, and klopp seems to only want VVD with no alternative should southampton not let him go.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
That's so relentlessly negative after one away draw.
i think its a fairly realistic, non rose tinted assessment of where we are at and some of the issues that need addressing. lets face it, they have had all summer to try and coach these slackers.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The draw is frustrating given we were minutes away from the win.
There are some issues to resolve, but we can resolve them.
You are not wrong. We can resolve our issues and come the end of the transfer window we may have brought in some more quality and addressed some of those issues.
A lot of us are disappointed right now. Today is what it is. A poor performance against the sort of team we should be taking three points off of.
My worry is not so much what happens if we bring nobody else in by the end of the transfer window though, but rather how lucky or unlucky are we going to be we regard to injuries/unavailable players. Fully fit and injury free, we have a good squad, maybe not a titkle winning one, but certainly good enough to repeat last season's finish (although I would be hoping that we aim higher that that tbh). But the tricky bit is being fully fit and injury free in terms of our better players.
Our bench today showed exactly what a few being out does to us, and quite a few of those that started today I would have no confidence in not missing a good number of games again this coming season. We need numbers and those numbers need to be of high quality imo.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

We drew away at Watford.
The reaction on here is staggering.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostYou know it's not a reaction to one draw though.
Exactly. I've been really negative for a month now as this summer has been dreadful. We can all see we've a paper thin squad and glaring weaknesses yet nothing is happening.
I don't class myself as a negative poster either... I don't enjoy being negative or have any masochistic tendencies (I prefer to call myself realistic
), anyway it's a bit maddening. The straw has broken on the owners rhetoric as well, I'd be happy with steady progress but I don't even see that.
So today wasn't a knee jerk by any stretch but to see how dreadful we were again from similar positions (i.e. Set pieces and general defensive/controlling situations after 4-5 weeks of coaching isn't going to change my tune sadly).

In his post match he did say he was up early preparing the game but although you might not have seen it he was.Originally posted by marksared View PostKlopp needs to sort out the defence....can anyone argue with that
I found that somewhat reassuring that he might know what he's doing but the players are too dim to carry out instructions. Although I don't agree with Firmino attacking the space (or not as was the case).
But yeah, I don't think anyone will argue with you that the defence is OK, maybe Fredo or FosterBloke at a push.

Can I just say that people call me out for being negative and I read this and think WTF. I'm not going to comment on the game, I saw barely 5 mins as I was at work. On hearing the result, I smiled. It wasn't unexpected. It's Liverpool football club. It's what we do.
I'm having fresh crab meat, vine tomatoes, lettuce, rocket and basil, with a crusty loaf washed down with the rest of the white rioja. I'm going to enjoy. I'll have a campari and tonic as well.
