Arsenal have a decent atmosphere and in their big stadium & United's is good too.. well when their not asleep that is. Most of the Chelsea & City fans have only been supporting them a few years to be fair, so they probably don't know any of the songs anyways

Anfield was always known as a fortress, same with Old Trafford. In the past alot of teams were beat before the game even started. That cauldron atmosphere hasn't been they in a long time. Maybe if we start pushing up the table it might improve but it does seem general consensus that the atmosphere in Anfield isn't great.

I've noticed that you can hear players at pretty much every game you tune into nowadays - it never used to be like that.
I think when you watch a match on tv you have to take into account pitch side microphones

I am not saying that you cant hear shouts from the players and staff at the ground but its more prominent when you watch it on telly

Just for the record you use to be able to hear player & staff shouts in the 70's & 80's when you had a lull in the crowd noise

I read an article about the Dortmund a few months ago and the yellow wall and it's resurgence under Klopp. He brought success to the team and the fans returned in droves and as such the yellow wall grew again. He tapped into this and the the bond between him and the and the fans grew and the Westfalen + the yellow wall became the focal point of this.

In fairness Dortmund are such a well run club from the top down and their link with the fans is amazing. I was looking for that article and I couldn't find it but this is also a good read on the yellow wall:

Just wanted to say I actually love him being interviewed, he brings a smile to my face , even the missus thinks he is funny.

Watching him get in the huddle the other day was fantastic fun when he broke his glasses.

Cant wait to see who he can attract in the summer.

              My Mrs likes him too

One thing that's niggling though, is he seems needled by our press already, and it's only been a few months. I think he's likable enough that they won't turn on him, and I wouldn't want Hodgson's/Rodgers' placating bollocks either, but still
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

good read thanks mate. Huge stadium Dortmund have and the atmosphere is incredible, it pisses over ours & most others to fair. It's such an intimidating atmosphere to com into, teams must shudder at the thought. Maybe success or the journey towards success will improve the atmosphere of Anfield, **** knows it needs to.

I've followed Dortmund for years - around the time they won the champs league with Riedle & Ricken scoring. The atmosphere is amazing, I might try to go there next season to see a game - my brother said he'll go with me.

Heading to Ireland v Belg in the summer so this year is out!

I remember going to Anfield under Houllier when we played Dortmund...about 2001 ish. Koller, Rosicky, Metzelder et al. Their fans were and still are the best I've ever seen at Anfield. They took over the Albert (and the Park) before the game, in a good way. Everyone was loving them, ****ing brilliant fans.

                        Upcoming fixtures:

                        30/01 - FA Cup - West Ham (H)
                        02/02 - PREM - Leicester (A)
                        06/02 - PREM - Sunderland (H)
                        14/02 - PREM - Aston Villa (A)
                        18/02 - UEFA - Augsburg (A)
20/02 - FAC - FA Cup Fifth Round
                        25/02 - UEFA - Augsburg (H)
                        28/02 - COC - Everton/Man City (N)

If we draw against West Ham, then our replay will be sandwiched between Sunderland and Aston Villa. We really could do with a break.

Just did that elsewhere, but left out the final :duh: I think we need to play a second team against West Ham.

                            Clyne - Caulker - Lovren - Smith
                            Milner - Allen - Brannagan
                            Ibe - Benteke - Ojo

I'd put the Europa above the FA cup.
