As soon as the election for club president is done, so is Koeman, imo.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIf Barca carry on with their current form much longer Koeman probably won't be in charge by the summer, which might make Wijnaldum reconsider going there, but I don't think he just wants to leave to go to Barca, I think the issue is bigger than that, so I don't think that the Barca situation changes anything other than potentially the final destination.

Yeah I get it that he wants the freedom to get forward & score goals like he does for the national team but I don’t think he’ll get that assurance from too many coaches tbh. Not top teams pushing for titles anyway.

It will be up to Klopp to replace him with players that can string games together, unlike perennial sicknotes such as Keita, Shaq and Oxo.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostReally disappointing if he doesn't sign a new contract, looking at how many games everyone else misses through injury Wijnaldum leaving would be a big blow.

Thought he was brilliant today, in an incredibly arduous and grim game. We're really going to miss him.

He’s due a rest though. As soon as Hendo is match fit he will be rested.

FFS.
Saved that article yesterday but forgot to read it.
Been available every game I think, only rested once when Thiago played against Everton.

I see Simon Hughes of the Athletic said yesterday unless something very dramatic happens there's no chance of him staying.
Here's Klopp on Gini:
"We've had situations like this before, with Emre Can for example. He played and he gave his absolutely everything until the last day of his contract and Gini will do the same, no doubt about that. No harm to our relationship for ever."

If that's the case, good luck to him, but the indications are that he wants to stay but a contract can't be agreed for whatever reason.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThe lads that came in 2017 (Robbo, Salah etc) are, incredibly, on track to obliterate that record.
Gini is great though. I really hope he stays. But, look at Thiago, sometimes a player just wants a new challenge. He’s been a great signing, will go down on folklore for his ‘Angry Gini’ Barca performance!
It will be a shame to lose him.
