He needs to step up big time for me this season.
Had his misfortune with injuries, but there were shoots of promise at times in a few of his appearances last season only for yet another break in his introduction.
This is not the Women's Auxiliary Balloon Corps, and he's an expensive member of the squad and at the level of player who should be staking a first team spot, so its up to him to fight his way into the team and make the spot his own.

Really could have done with some action in the preseason, but he'll get his chance, and will hopefully deliver.

My only worry is the lack of a pre-season and his sketchy injury record. Other than that he should be settled in and be a really important player for us this season.

Lack of pre-season is a worry for a few of our players, but personally I'm not to bothered about Charity Shield and Super Cup. We have Lyon up next, a glorified friendly against City, an easy match against Norwich on paper that we should win regardless of who's fully fit and then another match of less importance against Chelsea. As long as we don't get hammered by City or Chelsea, I think that will be enough of a min-preseason to get the rest of our players up to speed and ready for slightly harder matches against Southampton and Arsenal.

Nice wee warm up for Naby yesterday. I love watching him glide past defenders, especially when there is about 4 around him and he doesn't even need to.

Our midfield has the potential to be so good next year, I don't think we need to worry if our FB's or forwards are injured.

I thought he was very good yesterday. Looked flexible in terms of his running, taking great positions in the central areas, rotating with the other midfielders, and sharp in terms of his pressing too.

I think if he played first half it would have been a very different game. Bobby and Mo were both quite sharp, but they didn't have the service first half.

Done well Naby and got some nice tackles in too. He lost possession and ran back about 50 yards to win it back, was great to see. He just needs a season without injury for us to see what we bought.

I love how direct he is when running fast at defences - he will win plenty of free-kicks in and around the area. If only we had a free-kick specialist....Trent with his right foot, but on the left..?

Yep looked like he was back to being Bundesliga version of Naby when he came on. Pity he hit that shot straight at the keeper though. Would've gone into the season brimming with confidence had he hit the winner
