Think what we often see is that our standards of fitness/endurance is a lot higher and more demanding than what would pass mustard for a lot of clubs in the Premiership.

Course there is another elephant in the room with regards to our injury rate and that would be the fact we do not carry the same quality in depth that a club like City or Chelsea can afford to and as such competing at the top end of a few high level competitions will come with a higher attrition rate compared to teams that can swap out players with an almost like for like level of quality
Yup absolutely, massive physical demands at LFC and some just can't hack it.

That's the thing you look at Chelsea or City in the domestic cups, change most of the side and have very little drop off in quality whereas with us there is a noticeable drop off & the injury prone lads aren't even available to bump that bench standard up. Hard to compete on all fronts unless you have dodgy oil money that allows you to have 50m players sitting comfortably on the bench every week earning a couple of hundred grand pw.

We need luck with injuries to key players but that midfield issue has to be addressed. Hopefully sooner rather than later. N point in having talented guys in your squad that just aren't' available to use.

I do believe we will have the same issue next season but in the attacking third of the team. Salah is the only one I think will be maintaining his stupidly high levels and for a few seasons to come but the rest I think have peaked.

But without being a money laundering team we will have to accept one area of the pitch being sorted at a time.

Naby Keita is likely to be sidelined for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid, confirmed Jürgen Klopp.

The Liverpool No.8 had to be withdrawn during the first half of Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion due to a hamstring injury.

Keita will undergo a scan on the issue to determine its severity, but Klopp does not anticipate the midfielder can be involved versus Atletico.

“He told me, he showed me [the] hamstring. So, I don’t know, we will see; obviously tomorrow [or] the day after tomorrow he will have a scan and then we will know,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com post-match.

“But if somebody feels the hamstring, it would be the first time that he is ready for the next game. So, I can’t see that.”

He's got a hamstring injury, how the **** can they call him up??

Not a chance in hell we should be letting him go to get even more ****ed up playing on the potato fields they call pitches.

If he does go to play in these meaningless games, when he is injured - or just coming back from injury - and considering that we have dropped 5 points in the last 2 league games - then that should be the nail on the coffin on his Liverpool career. Sell the ****er.

Don't think the player or club have a lot of choice in the matter.

Pretty sure there are some rules in place that state that the international set up can call the player up even if the club say the player is injured and the international wet up can insist on the player being checked out by their own medical staff instead.

Think there is something in place as well that if we refused to let him travel that FIFA can then ban the player from playing in the next one or two club games as punishment.

Naby could say to Guinea that he is injured. If their FA insist on him travelling to be assessed, then he should just say "what the ****? You don't trust me to tell you the truth?? Tell you what, I'm retiring from international football then.........come back to me if you decide to respect me a bit"

I think you're all looking at this the wrong way, we need to sign the Guinea medical team then Naby will be fit for every game
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Take the ban and use the time to build up his strength. He'll only be missing the same time injured if he goes anyway.

So did he actually end up going away with Guinea?

Yes played 78 minutes. Scored two and set up one. Came off injured in the 79th minute, running up to take a penalty for his hattick. He tripped over the penalty spot and simply broke in two. Rip Naby.
