Thought Naby had a very good game today other than bottling the tackle that lead to the Spurs goal.

Far and away the best of a makeshift three.

He had a tough job in such a dysfunctional midfield unit. Milner kept going awol - and wtf was with his underhit passes all day? - and while Morton did alright on the ball I thought without the ball he struggled badly. Not his fault mind. Naby did ok, but it was a tough gig for all of them.

I thought he was poor to be honest, most of our lads were though. I expected nothing less from that midfield line up when one is a kid & the other two are not match fit... we looked lost in there & we looked bolloxed.

Yeah, I doubt many teams could have survived such a big away game with a midfield that has never played before, 2 players just back from injury and a kid who only recently made his debut. I am pretty happy with the fact we got a creditable draw (so close to a win), but it felt like the dark days of last season when you looked at the team sheet and saw Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips at the back.

Didnt Rhys and Nat win us 9 out of the last 10 games last season?

I thought the problam was the gap. I am still unclear who was holding but nobody was there to cut out those balls. I dont think you can or should play a kid to do that job. There is too much responsibility to quietly sit. I thimk you need a lot of experience at that level to get the positional instinct required

They may well have, but I dont think I ever looked at the teamsheet with anything other than a feeling of dread.

I agree though, as ever, our midfield is much maligned but if you remove a few key players who understand very well what their jobs are then we quickly see the solid foundation that these guys provide.

not sure how anyone thought that was a decent performance from Naby. ****ty circumstances though, so I'm going to write it off.

And Spurs fans were happy because we had our front three and they got a draw.

Changed the game tonight. Need more of that! He's a quality player when he's on it.

Brilliant alright tonight when he came on...... Expect him to be brilliant for the next 3 games and then play with a dislocated knee in the opening afcon game
