I hope this is the case rather than another injury.

I wonder how many international games he's missed

Both of them. His only appearance this season has been for Liverpool in the Community Shield.

This has all become deeply suspicious now. He will be gone in January I reckon

Why would he go in Jan - he’ll be free 6 months later and can get a better deal that way?

Yep he gets a bigger signing on fee etc by waiting until the end of the season.

Same with Firmino, Milner and Chamberlain.

Milner is 37 in January, surely he'll retire from playing and take up a coaching role?

I doubt people will be queuing up to take Ox or Keita with their injury records, yes they will get slightly better terms moving on a free if they can find someone willing to take a chance on them, but the terms are almost certainly going to be worse than what they are on now, that's the reason they are staying until summer IMO

Their base wages will probably be lower than they are with us, but with no transfer fee involved they will most likely get a better signing on fee.

Not to mention your point of them getting until the summer on their current wages on top.

Firmino is in the same boat given his contract is up at the end of June too.

Milner it is hard to tell with. He might be finished as a first team regular for a top 10 team or better. but he could still probably do a decent job for a bottom half team or a championship team.

If he has a talent and aptitude for coaching I would love to see him stay on with us in such a role.
