I factor in cost and wages, Alberto no doubt was a shocker and definitely up there but I just cannot think of a worst value for money signing than Keita and it also stands out so much beside of the state of our current midfield. He cost €60m and has been on €130k per week and we'll probably get zero for him now.
I think we can agree though that he has been a disaster signing.Last edited by danperkins; 16-01-23, 03:15 PM.Comment

Can we not just unregister him now and get a new midfielder in ASAP?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.Comment

He was the 4th most used midfielder in a season where we played every game and almost won a quadruple. Unfortunately for him he will be remembered for his horrific attempted shot in the CL final, and not for all of the good stuff he did before it.Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hingeComment

I think that is a more damning criticism of our midfield than a credit to him, and a mark of how far they have fallen, he wasn't able to get into the side regularly when he was fit last year, he may be better than our ageing midfield in the last 20 mins of games now, but I don't think that's a reason to keep him, we need a massive overhaul of the midfield. Giving him a new contract would be madness. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment
