Can't help can it? You'd be amazed though, I had a tibial plateau fracture, separate ACL/tibial spine avulsion and a meniscal tear and tried to snap my boots back into my ski bindings and carry on

Hobbled about for a couple of days and waited until I got home before going to A&E. Yeah, I know, total dickhead, but all the imaging afterwards showed was high velocity impact and/or high torsion injuries. Nothing I'd done in the time since.

I reckon he did his PCL (based on the conversations I had with the physio) which supposedly isn't as bad as doing the ACL but I would be surprised if we see him before the end of this year

I am guessing November is optimistic

        Ouch

Yeah sounds like best case. Anyone know if he's also done the same medial ligament as before, or if it's the other knee?

Gutted for AOC, he was playing so well too and this seems a really nasty injury that is going to leave him out for some time.

Gutted. Let's win Number 6 for him!

I only think he's had one major knee injury before in 13/14 when out for half a year, but what knee it was I can't really find by a quick google.

His injury history is quite big (as we knew): https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex...spieler/143424

I had a bad fall when working in Perisher Valley ski-fields here in Oz many years back. Hit ice I did & caught an edge & high sided enough to tear my cruciate & lateral ligaments etc. I tried to snow plough my way back to base, instead of getting in a blood bucket , and walked 2kms home before finally going to see a doctor the next day after consuming copious amounts of alcohol trying to reduce the pain all night.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Listened to a pod on his injury today (Anfield Index) and they had a physio + sports scientist speaking about the type of injury he had and the rehabilitation required to build him back up and they reckoned it would be very surprising if he played even next season. The injury isn't a more usual ACL that are treated regularly and that added even more complexity.

I think I might have started Hendo - Gini - Milner tonight either way but he’d have been brilliant to bring on.

I think that we've actually been quite lucky with injuries for much of the season. The Salah and Ox injuries were unlucky, but you get some of those most years unfortunately. Most of the other injuries were somewhat expected, players like Lallana, Henderson etc seem prone to those injuries. I feel we were lucky not to have got injuries to the front 3 before today, I wouldn't say that we have had a disproportionate amount of injuries, we need a bigger squad to cope with the 'normal' number of injuries that you'll get in the season.

Really? On top of those, Mane out for a while, pre Christmas.

                            Phils back

Emre back for about 3 months.

                            Matip and Lovren for periods.

Gomez. Lallana nearly all season. Clyne all season. Ox.

Technically Moreno, though that worked out well for us.

                            And now Salah.

Lallana and Henderson are prone to fairly long periods out, Matip and Lovren have also tended to be out for fairly short periods of time quite frequently so none of those were really unexpected, Clyne was injured before the start of the season.

I think that the others are just run of the mill type injuries. You might be unfortunate with who gets injured and when and for how long. But I think that you would find that having ato least 4 or 5 players injured at any time is probably normal. I think that you probably have to assume that a typical player will probably miss about athe least a month of the season through injury. We have IMO been rather fortunateam that injuries have come in areas we are relatively strong rather than areas that we are weak or lack depth
