Probably assumed he couldn't chase them away for fear of injury.

Nobody encapsulates the reason for our demise more than this guy. Not good enough, not fit enough, should have been shipped out years ago, yet still in the first team squad being paid £6m+ a year. There are others, but this one takes the biscuit.

I do 100% sympathise with that burglary, must be horrible.

I don't feel like I can let it pass without pointing out its ironic that he's been robbing us blind for years.

I doubt if he does have anyone wantin g him to get a new contract on footballing terms.

He might have people like me disagreeing when you called him a piece of **** that would not flush but in terms of on pitch value he is well past his sell by date. Thing is why would another club want to pay a fee for a guy that they can get for free next July?

And why would the player leave when he can hang on to the end of his contract getting his current wage and then a hefty signing on fee to join a new club.

Coould make similar arguements for any of our players who can leave for free next July. Be it Firmino, Milner, Chamberlain or Keita. Nobody is going to be in a rush to buy them be it on form or simply down to not having to pay a transfer fee if they wait until July instead of buying in January.

We have all of them until July. No point complaining about them. Use them on the pitch if we can between now and then. Use the wages they free up in July to put towards someone new.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I’m sure we all understand what an analogy is.

And the complaint isn’t about them personally in their current situation, it’s that we have let it get to this stage and not sold them before now.

It’s bad enough when a player that we should be desperate to keep runs those contract down, when it’s Ox and Keita, and arguably an aging Firmino, we only have ourselves to blame

The turd that won't was blown out of proportion, you all knew what I meant. I've been harping on about getting rid of likes of him, keita etc for ages. It's all coming home to roost and they shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch if we can help it.

yeah we've been patting ourselves on the back for years regarding our transfer business but we've ****ed ourselves by hanging on to the same old historical crocks and geing/under performing players.

So whats your alternative? How do we move them on? What is the easy seemless way to do this?

Other clubs most likely will see what we see so will not buy them or if they do want to take a punt they will want them on a free.

We cannot force the players out.

So talk of selling them is moot if nobody wants to pay a fee or if the players decide to see out their contracts.

The fact we have four guys on good wages sitting there to their contracvt ends will impact out ability to bring someone new in. So as obvious as it sounds, we get left in a situation where we have to wait for them to see out their contracts in order to replace them, or let it reach a point where we only have five or six months of their contracts left and then get the new guy or guys in so there is not a prolonged period of paying extra wages.

Well that's the thing and such a baffling thing that we didn't move them on. Why and how has it got to this point where we are in fact ****ed. We are stuck now and it's not a case of what can we do, as there's sweet **** all we can do but more of a question or why and how we let ourselves get into this situation. Do we even know whether we had to force them out or was it a case where we wanted to keep them?

The Evertons of the world would have bought Ox. A relatively cheap way of getting a ‘name’ to keep the fans dreaming, aka the Ross Barkley effect.

There was internet in Henderson, or at least plenty of reports of it. Keita’s stock was still high enough to sell (likely to Germany) way after it was clear that he wasn’t going to be the ‘missing piece of the jigsaw’ for us imo.
