    [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgbTpXFWf6Y"]Fabinho 2018 ● Welcome to Liverpool ● Defensive Skills/Passes & Goals 🔴🇧🇷 - YouTube[/ame]

Look at the way he intercepts, passes, drives forward and takes penalties. Also happy to take players on in the penalty area too which is nice!

We'll have genuine quality and options in midfield (barring further injuries) -

    Keita -- Fabinho -- Henderson

or Keita -- Fabinho -- Fekir

or Henderson -- Keita -- Oxlade

    etc

    ----------------- Allison

    TAA ----- Lovren ----- VVD ----- Robertson

    ---------------- Fabinho

    ------ Keita -------------- Henderson

    Salah --------- Firmino -------- Mane

Subs: GK, Clyne, LB, Matip, Wijnaldum, Fekir, Wilson

Squad: GK, Lallana, Oxlade, Solanke, Grujic, Brewster

a trio of Keita, Fabinho and Ox looks incredibly exciting to me. long way off as the latter is injured but its a real possibility now. so much pace, dribbling & physicality.

          Fabinho
          Henderson
          Milner
          Keita
          Wijnaldum
          Ox
          Lallana

Even with Ox's injury does that look a little overloaded? If we're to believe Fekir could/might operate in a deeper role once he arrives?

Didn't realise that Fabinho was Monaco's Vice Captain too. More leaders!

Fekir can also play in a front three, similar to how Coutinho used to play. He did roam around in different positions in today's international game vs Rep. of Ireland.
                Are we winning?

I think as it stands that's probably about right, you need to account for injuries, Ox is going to miss at least half of the season if not more, Henderson and Lallana are prone to picking up knocks and Keita will get a couple of suspensions

I wonder if Fekir could be the cover for Salah and Mane, if he is to play in midfield maybe we will move someone on.

How Liverpool beat Europe to the signing of Fabinho – the early details

In a whirlwind of events this evening, Monaco and Liverpool have both confirmed the transfer of Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho for an initial fee believed to be worth €50m plus bonuses that could reach up to €10m.

The deal caught many in the media by surprise, and is thought to have had a similar effect on the many European clubs that had previously been chasing the player.

The initial details are as follows:

Téléfoot report that the only other formal offer on the table for Fabinho so far this summer had come from Atletico Madrid, worth just €35m, and Liverpool’s €50m base fee bid thus blew the Spanish side out of the water.

Fabinho was focused on a transfer away from Monaco before the window came close to starting, with his initial preference having been PSG. However, with the Ligue 1 champions increasingly pessimistic about the likely negative implications of sanctions relating to Financial Fair Play infringements that are due to fall in the coming weeks, Fabinho was convinced to make an early move if possible, a deal that gave Monaco ample time to restructure their squad ahead of the new campaign, thus one away from Paris.

Paris United, the outlet first responsible for breaking Neymar & Kylian Mbappé to PSG, claim that the turning point for Liverpool in the race for Fabinho came in early May in a restaurant in Monaco called “Maya Bay,” where Monaco VP Vadim Vasilyev, Sporting Director Michael Emenalo and agent Jorge Mendes finalised details for the player’s departure and the exact conditions required for a deal to happen.

Manchester United, as reported by RMC last week, were in regular contact with Fabinho’s entourage, but clearly distracted by other potential targets in this position, did not move with in time.

Hopefully City have a lazy season after their success then we'll piss it. But if not we can go toe to toe with them!

It's crazy to think that this time last year our record signing was still Andy Carroll and since then we have bought Salah, VVD, Keita and this guy for more than that amount, and there's a good chance we could sign 3 more players for for than that. Football is crazy at the moment
