Hmmmmm. maybe he can peak over 40 but his average is more in line SalahOriginally posted by labourRed View PostMbappe regularly clocks over 40, he's phenomenal though and a bit of an aberration.
mbappe scored a goal against lille and was quote as running at what they will have you believe as 44.7kmh peak speed. Not even the fastest man ever in the world Usain Bolt can achieve that, his best is 44.64kmh (that is in the mid to later 60 to 80 m stage of the 100m. This equates to 20 metres in 1.61 seconds
Is mbappe faster than Bolt, simple answer. NoLast edited by Assassin; 25-07-18, 07:26 AM.

I don't know how those speeds of players are measured but assuming they are on a football pitch, I would doubt any footballer has topped 40 kmph in a match. Given Bolt's top speed in optimum sprinting conditions where running is the sole focus is less than 45 and footballers are in the middle of a game with all kinds of distractions from speed. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Well obviously he couldn't run the 100m faster than Bolt, no. But then he isn't starting from the ground either.Originally posted by Assassin View PostHmmmmm. maybe he can peak over 40 but his average is more in line Salah

I'd reckon some footballers (not ours) would give bolt a run for his money from a running start though, e.g. bolt's anchor leg WR is 8.6
Top speeds in the 100m is something like 10-20 meters, they don't maintain that, so the max speeds here will be over a very short distance which is why they seem odd.
If these numbers weren't crazy, achieving these speeds with the ball is more remarkable.Last edited by labourRed; 25-07-18, 10:43 AM.
