Each game his sloppy play causes the whole team to drop off a level? I'm surprised we've managed to win any games when he plays

If he stays fit for the rest of the season we will win something else… he’s too good. He faded a bit tonight, as did others, but he’s key to us having a chance of progressing on all fronts.

I don’t think it’s about someone hacking him down- I think it’s more about playing every few days… I would tend to try to limit him to once a week- we have the squad to rotate now, so let’s use it. I’d want him playing against city next 2 weeks, and hopefully we don’t need him in either of the benfica games (have him on the bench just in case). After that, reassess, based on what we’re still going for.

Then look at his career trophy haul. We need to manage his game time for sure. And that starts 100% with him being fit to play City. Defo rest him tomorrow.

The pass on ten seconds is utter filth.

When the games have been coming twice a week, we’ve been alternating Thiago with Naby in the LCM position all season (when they’ve both been available).

Thiago takes the bigger games, but Naby’s form this season allows us to manage Thiago without a risky drop off in quality or any compromise to our preferred midfield set up.

Really important that we can keep both fit for the run in. We need Naby to be able to effectively manage Thiago and still maintain a strong midfield. And we need Thiago if we’re going to make this a special season.

Lovely. No reason why he can’t feature against Forest then.

Left out of the Spain squad. Absurd, but great for us.
