To be fair he's an epic crock so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. We can't rely on him to stay fit regardless of if he is out for the season or not. Midfield overhaul is an absolute must.

Won't Keita only have 1 year on his contract by the summer? So I doubt we'd get a big fee.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostYip agree completely.... And if someone offered a half decent fee for Keita then I'd be tempted to cut my losses as wellThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nah, previously with stuff like this Klopp has kicked the can down the road in press conferences etc, but when an official communication like this comes out, that tends to be it.Originally posted by Tribute View Post…the club have come out with stuff like this in the past though and it just keeps getting pushed back and back. Either way we are extremely light in midfield - we need an extra body there. Maybe Elliott but a new signing would ease the burdenOriginally posted by Pepe79 View PostNah, previously with stuff like this Klopp has kicked the can down the road in press conferences etc, but when an official communication like this comes out, that tends to be it.

Agree, nothing about this statement says Thiago will back soon. Could still be missing January and most of February.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostEither way we are extremely light in midfield - we need an extra body there. Maybe Elliott but a new signing would ease the burden.

Was saying this near the start of the season, but I think we need two in.
Two athletic, mobile somewhat quick midfielders that can offer a physical presence as well as being technically sound and being at a level where they can compete for starting berths whilst being a good quality next in line squad players.
I would be all over getting one or two of the players that are done to their final six months in their contracts and if we only got one of the six month guys I would add someone like Nkunku to the mix as he could cover in an advanced midfield role as well as offer cover/competition to Mane. Nkunku's underlying numbers are just so good and he passes the simply watching him to see what he is about with ease too.
Or if we did have some decent money to spend I would be looking at the likes of Tchouameni (or Forfana who plays with him at Monaco) or someone like Barella. But those three would probably be pipedreams.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Maybe Elliott but a new signing would ease the burdenAs I said in the midfield thread, on paper we have alot of players in there, the reality of it is that between them Thiago, Keita and Ox can probably just about fill one position in our midfield. The three of them cost over £100m in transfer fees and are probably on ~£400k a week between them and they are filling one position in the team, it doesn't feel like a good use of our limited resources, as good a player as they might be if you can only get them on the pitch half of the time what's the point? I feel we might just have to be ruthless with some of these guys in the summer and bring in players we can rely on. Thiago as the last in and most regular starter probably is the safest of the 3, but the midfield needs an overhaulOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostWas saying this near the start of the season, but I think we need two in.
