Wouldn’t be an issue if he was a donkey but he’s genuinely a world class talent - probably one of the best to ever play for us in terms of talent - he’s been a major disappointment sadly.

Was a genuine joy to watch him play for us. Shame it wasn’t anywhere near often enough.

I’d add Litmanen to the list

At least with Thiago we saw his quality and influence when he did play.

Not sure we ever really did with those others mentioned. Litmanen to a point. The odd flash with Kewell.

Morientes looked like an imposter of the Real Madrid and Monaco player.

He was expensive considering his playing time, but a rolls royce of a player. You look at expensive flops like Antony, Sanchez at united to put the signing in context, he wasn't that expensive.

Not half had a bad career though.

Just looking at his haul of winner's medals.

            11 League titles
            2 Champions leagues
6 domestic cups (am ignoring charity shields/Supercopas etc)
            Two club world cups.

And got to play for three of the biggest clubs in the game

love him. one of the most talented players we've ever had.

would loved to have seen him play with two runners alongside ie milner / hendo / gini

Maybe that's why he and Keita garnered so much attention from you, it was like looking in the mirror

Shame, he was one of the generational talents. Just shows how the modern game and the ridiculous game schedules throughout the season ****ed his body up. Good luck to him, he was a joy to watch

Not sure the schedule had anything to do with it. He was made of glass

A human guinea pig for the medical department in the end.

Well they still have Jota, Konate and most likely Gomez to keep them busy going forward.

He's a really good player but you have to say a disappointing signing due to his injury record, shame really that he couldn't have been on the pitch more.

Has it been announced where he is going? Presumably has something lined up?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The scenes if Thiago rocks up at Werder Bremen

What a central midfield they'd have
