Burnley were hoping all the goal hopes would rest on Salah and Mane. But now we've thrown a fire cracker in those tactics from last season.

Will be interesting to see how teams approach us this season. Specially with Ox also hovering outside the area for his accurate thunderbolts and no Gini taking 6/7 touches before passing sideways to give the defenders a breather.

Virgils range of passing is huge aswell, lost count of the pin point diagonals from him yesterday. Our front 3 can all score, a few more goals from midfield would be nice. The more unpredictable we are, the better.

        Yeah I respected Maxi too.

He has a few great simple but risky passes yesterday that really opened up things for mane around the box.

So good in tight spaces and great to have him and bobby rotate throughout the centre this season

            Diogo Jota

He annoys me with his passing sometimes though. Loses possession cheaply at times, got bollocked by Klopp yesterday for doing so when he should have spotted an easier pass. His goal scoring keeps him in the side for me, but he’s nowhere near Bobby’s ability to stitch our forward moves. Great player to have though which emphasises our strength in depth.

He missed one pass yesterday with 95% pass accuracy.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Hmmm. Not too sure, maybe it’s the fact his first touch lets him down time and again, I thought the ball wasn’t moving quick enough when reaching him. Definitely misplaced a few more than that. I’ll have to watch the game again.

'Time and time' again seems a bit much, no?

Fair enough but I do feel we miss Bobby’s intricate forward play when Jota plays, but Jota is the poacher that we needed, so I might be comparing him unfairly to Bobby.

It's not Jota's preferred position and he doesn't get involved as much as Bobby, but if he puts it in the back of the net, then that's good enough for me.

Interesting to see how we set up for Chelsea.

I understand what you mean, sometimes jota is maybe too composed on the ball, taking a little bit too long to get a pass away but yesterday I didn't think he was. I don't mind any of the players taking a bit more risk with a pass in around the box.

In many cases, it's needed to open up for a half chance when the opposition is set back with 9-10 players behind the ball.

Bobby sometimes is so deep, he's closer to the midfielders than the two wide forwards and has to play back to them a lot. When he was low on confidence at times last season, I felt he was understandably more conservative with his passing.

Diogo is a left winger playing in the false nine Bobby role. So you have to set your expectations. He may grow into more or we may swap roles around, e.g. Mane and Salah through the middle, although we usually do that in a bind. I would like to see a bit more rotation during games perhaps.

I think we did see that though yesterday. If you look at the goal Mane scored, he's made a run through the middle, in the space a centre-forward would occupy and that was not the only time.

Jota comes deep at times when in the false 9 role.

He is properly versatile, helped by being properly two footed, he can play LW, CAM, ST, probably on the right too if needed.

He’s a left winger/attacker that does his best work in the box. Doesn’t mean he can’t be effective in other positions but that is where I think he’s at his best. Elliott looks more like a potential false 9 than Diogo to me but he’s not quite there yet.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.
