Missed a few chances but thought he was excellent. Movement was so refreshing, causing chaos and so close to scoring tonight and his last few cameos.

And every English team in the professional and semi professional leagues know this.
Jota makes it impossible to have a team plan, he's just popping up everywhere and has really scary accuracy (usually) with his shots. Oppos can't just 'let him have the ball' outside the box as you can with Bobby. One tit for another.

Bobby out may be a blessing as he's been so poor for so long. Jota is a live wire, with the 3 lads you have pace and movement everywhere and especially against low block sides as it pulls them out of position as we are less predictable. Only a matter of time before they all start kicking in again.

His goal last night was typical Jota. He hit the ball early, hard and on target. Keeper made a meal of it and probably should have saved it, but because he hit it first time it took him by surprise. This is a massive plus point for jota. Rather than faffing about he is able to get shots away quickly. He offers something different to the regular 3. If he hadn't ****ed his knee we would have been comfortably top 4.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Very true, he shoots on sight and has a powerful strike. Refreshing to see how he uses both his feet so well, much less predictable in this regard than someone like Salah who is also looking to shape it onto his left and curl into the far corner.
He had an effort saved by Patricio towards the end where he took a pass on his left rolled it out beautifully and lashed it with his right.
It sounds stupid to say as you'd expect all professionals to be very good with both feet but it seems more of rarity in todays game vs clips I've seen of bygone eras.
Most of them seem competent with their weaker foot but unwillingly to use it unless absolutely necessary.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

He works his nuts off as well which is great. When you have hard working guys like Jota, Mane, Bobby and Mo - then even when they are not in form like Mane and Bobby for large parts of this season, they still offer something.
That is why there is a big drop off when Divock plays - he just doesn't work as hard as the others.
I am hopeful that we can go on a bit of a run now and make the CL next year....... will be less pressure for the team when we are in the final if we are already qualified for next seasons competition too!!!

...the only way Divock runs around and works hard like the others is the day we get mirrored advertising boards around the ground...Originally posted by frank the tank View PostHe works his nuts off as well which is great. What I love about Jota is the fact he can hit the ball with pace and accuracy with hardly any backlift. That so aids him in being able to have a shot inbound before a keeper or defender has time to anticipate it.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
