Do you keep? Or sell? If he's happy being a bit part in a good team than fair enough but you can never build a team with him in it. He will never stay fit long enough.

As much as I appreciate him as a player, I think we should look to replace him in the summer. He's rapidly becoming another Sturridge-like player in that he's brilliant when available but not available often enough. His peak transfer value will be at the end of the season so we should look to play him whenever we can between now and then but cash in thereafter. It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

Agree with this, gutting as he is almost in the 'elite' catergory (aka Studge) but is very much broken.Originally posted by memzey View PostAs much as I appreciate him as a player, I think we should look to replace him in the summer. No further questions your honour.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI don't get the calls to sell him.
When he plays, he by and large scores. And big, important goals too. Some of his injuries are just bad luck too. The one against Chelsea he could do nothing about. He just got wrestled and flattened by a player.

Think the majority of his injuries are ones that have been caused by the previous five to twenty challenges rather than the one that seemingly puts him out.
He is physical beyond his body's durability levels imo and as a result is one of those athletes that is constantly carrying niggles that eventually put too much strain on another part of the body.
We can point to the Chelsea injury, but then he came back from that and is out within a game of coming back. It is pretty much constant with him and as someone else said eariler, you simply cannot build anything around him in attack as you don't know if you can get four games in a row from him let alone the bulk of a season.
Yes he is prolific, but that is pretty useless if you cannot depend on that prolificacy.
Do think he would be more difficult to sell than Nunez though. Nunez stays fit and there will be managers that look at him and think they can drop him into a set up that plays to his strengths, but with Jota you buy a guy that might not make it through his first pre season. He might well be another Keita or Oxlaide Chamberlain seeing out a contract in the physio rooms.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

No way should we sell. Yes he's made of ****ing rice crispies but he's lethal in front of goal and he's crucial to us getting late goals so no, don't sell him.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

He's the best finisher at the club. Maybe in the league, but he's a complete waste of squad space and money if he's rarely fit.Originally posted by dom9 View PostNot open and shut though.
He probably gets more minutes than Nunez, even with his injuries. And which one has scored more goals?
And his injury record since joining us has to be the worst in club history. He makes Sturridge and thiago look like mr Invincible and the Terminator.

This is his fifth season at the club and he might finish those five seasons with 50 league goals overall (currently on 46).
Yes his goals to game ratio is good, but if it is only worth 10 goals a season would it not make more sense to try and find someone that might be 75% as good in front of goal to availabe for twice as many minutes a season?
Being available for half a season most seasons is something that is not going to improve much given he turns 29 late this year.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

There has been several windows when we've all talked about wrapping him in bubble wrap so we can get him sold and replace with someone who is more durable and who will be available more often.
We now have Danns who could take up some of the slack.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
