Made up for him. He's too good to be a number 2 isn't he?!

Really made up for him, people on here and elsewhere were questioning the decision to play him, we he had a good game, I didn't expect him to score the winning pen though
Crazy game

Hopefully, if we can guarantee a good domestic cup run there are some games. Although, he'd be a great pick up for a good Championship team. If he proves he can do it week in, week out he could be a Premiership player.Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostYes, but maybe this involvement keeps him around for a bit longer!

Only problem with loaning him out is we would then need to find a new number two that is at the very least as good as him so that we do not have too big a drop off between Alisson and the number two.
But he does need regular game time alright.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Presumably he will get both the league cup and FA Cup games next year, which hopefully with a stronger squad means we have more chance of getting to the latter stages of so hopefully a decent number of games, hopefully a couple of CL dead rubbers as well, plus any games Alisson misses.Last edited by Exiled_red; 28-02-22, 10:58 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I mean we just went all the way in the league cup and we’re still in the FA cup, haha.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostPresumably he will get both the league cup and FA Cup games next year, which hopefully with a stronger squad means we have more chance of getting to the latter stages of so hopefully a decent number of games
I wonder will he play all the FA cup games this year too? I reckon if he was given all the league cup and FA cup games, he would be mad to look to go elsewhere. He’s still very young, is training with the very best keeper in the world, and is winning trophies… and is not just making up numbers in the squad, is actually contributing.I don't tip

The risk, for him, with staying just for cup games is that we could be out of both domestic cups after two or three games if we got a bit of bad luck or a tough draw early on.
So after that he would be gambling on Alisson getting injured or there being dead rubbers in the CL.
For some reason I thought he had played more games this season, but so far he has played in eight games - two in the PL, four in the LC and two in the FA cup so far.
Think he would need to be getting into the double figures worth of first team starts a season, which he looks likely to do this season, to continue to develop.
Of course we could very easily have that many games to give him in all comps again next season, so if he thinks it is worth the gamble, and days like yesterday will surely help sway his decision, then he is a very nice option to have as Ali's backupI don't hate people.
