Why's it up to Diaz to refund fans personally? I know he's loaded like all players, just seems odd. Surely the club have made the decision and they should refund all 10 fans who have a genuine shirt with his old number on.

A similar announcement has been made in the past with regards to other players that changed number.

Is no doubt just a PR thing by the club to paint a player is a "he's a sound lad" light.

Come on, it's not like that the club told Diaz that he's wearing no.7 next season, that's down to personal choice so up to him to re-imburse the fans who have bought new jerseys with his old number. No better way to enhance your rep with fans.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It's 100% a PR line to make sure kids who purchased his shirt with the 23 don't get emotional about it. The club won't even feel the cost of replacing the shirts with the new number... it's all about not alienating the younger element of the fanbase.

A lot of pressure on him this season. His productivity has to get better.

Yeah, after a season & a half, he should be a little more tuned in how we play & what is expected from him/who he is replacing in terms of output (Mane).
So I'm expecting to see double digits in goals & assists for next season so no pressure, Luis!

I reckon he should be getting close to 25-30 combined goals and assists. He certainly has the talent.

If he got a combined figure of 20 G/A he would be one of the best and most effective wingers in the league.

Think we just have higher, and maybe slightly unrealistic, expectations thanks to the numbers Mane and especialy Salah have racked up for us for so long.

If he was injury he shpoul acheive that. 50 odd games and some right cannon fodder hopefully in the Europa Cuop.
He has 47 games for us 11 goals and probably 5/10 assists and he wil be on amission this year

He missed 31 games last season with the knee injury so not really a season and a half.

I don't think you can directly compare Diaz to Mane, they're just different types of player.

Mane in his first few seasons was electric and scored loads with Salah and Bobby between them. Last two seasons, Mane was a shadow of his former self and Diaz brought some dynamism back into the left hand side.
He doesn't score the same number of goals as peak-Mane, but he offers something different. He's unpredictable and has an edge to his game.
He can go missing without any service, but who wouldn't.

Think he'll be back to his pre-injury best this season and especially once it 'clicks' with Darwin up top...
