I would say Torres got widespread instant praise… a lot of hype when he arrived, and then his first game he gets an unreal goal against chelsea and leaves terry on his arse…
But that was a little different, he was a record signing brought in to be our new main man up front, so the hype was to be expected.
Diaz is brought in to be another squad option. Also the praise he’s been getting isn’t for his goals (which were all great) but more for his work rate, and how his style fits our style of play perfectly.I don't tipComment

Yeah, 100%.
As has been discussed Suarez didn't even come close. In his last season he was super special (way more special than Diaz btw) but by then he was a divisive figure.
Salah in his first season didn't even seem to come close to the media love in with Diaz at the moment. I think what has surprised everyone, is we've clearly got a special forward line and he's come in and improved it
and does offensive and defensive work like he's been here for over a year.

Suarez absolutely did. He was a massive story and ignited a lot of interest when he arrived midway through that season.Yeah, 100%.

As for Salah, he had a documentary on mainstream TV off the back of his 1st season!.

Alright, semantics. Everyone knew and agreed that we’d signed a worldy..

I think it’s not so much that he’s better than any of the others, but just that he’s on their level too, so all of a sudden we have options up front.
During the battle between klopp and guardiola, the narrative has always been that while we both have great teams, city clearly have a much better depth in squad. But I think that’s flipped now. After Diaz came in, you’d say we currently have better depth. This is partially due to adding a 5th top quality attacker, but also it’s the first time we’ve had everyone fit, and have options allover the pitch.
Also the fact that we rejuvenated our title challenge right after him coming in (in part, thanks to him) meant there was always gonna be widespread media praiseI don't tipComment

Just back to his performances again, I actually think he's got another level he can reach too. I'd say he's almost playing within himself so far. He's capable of some proper goal of the month contenders. He's going to hit a long ranger soon, hopefully on Sunday, you can feel it.Comment
