FWIW - I do think the club are allowing players to soak up their contract as opposed to spending silly money on renewals - I think we are seeing that now. I do think Eddy/Hughes are being pragmatic on this - Its worked previously, who knows now. i think you trust the process that has served them. Does he deserve a pay raise? There was lots floating around about him 'only' being on £55k or £70k a week. If that were the case you would say he was underpaid,but there was someone saying that was BS, and he was on £140-150k which seems fair.

I think the new old team are trustworthy in the sense that - being an old fecker - I realise that the success of a club does really come down to money management over a period of time - so I trust them; but I imagine many fans thinking he should just be given a pay rise. If he was on <£100k I would agree, but if it's closer to £200k, then no. Sell him when the oppo arises if he wants more.

THis makes sense. Same as Konate. The value of letting him run down his contract and leaving on a free may be more than selling early and having to replace him at a higher cost, especially if they assume that the player will work harder to get a new contract and/or given its a world cup year get into the national team.
As many have said I trust the backroom team to get the most out of the resources we have (as horrible as that sounds)

Yeah, I think Edwards and his team have a lot of credit in the bank. Diaz and Konate are good but replacable. If they see a better option, then Im on board. The finances feed into that.

Fsg have rarely ****ed up. Injuries aside, almost every player they have recommened and signed has paid off.

Im willing to give them some space to work their magic. The biggest criticism is not signiing players in positions that we needed, but circumstances may have played a card on occasion that we couldnt account for. No other tesm in the wotld have managed so many good decisions imho. They are due a ****up or two and are still streets ahead of the rest.

Yeah we have had a very good hit rate with transfers, especially the 30m and above ones, since they came in.

I suppose the main ones that didn’t work were Naby Keita and Lazar Markovic. Those are more than offset by the ones that worked. The profit on Coutinho funded signings that brought success which pays for signings we are still making.

He had an odd dribbling style where the ball would be further out in front of him and he’d stick his leg out and kind of toe-poke it in the direction he wanted it to go.
