This is the crux with Darwin, he is going to be a machine once he gets consistency.

He’s always involved and it’s a bit lazy to say (but I’m saying it) that he reminds me of the first 6 months of Suarez. LS missed a hatful of chances early on and would drive you mad one minute and do something outrageous the next….. Nunez actually scored more than Suarez did for us so far when comparing games played

I recall that with Suarez. Salah also, Salah both missed loads of chances AND scored tons of goals in his first season.

Nunez best quality is his perseverance. He never hides and seems to always be in the thick of the action. If he can slightly up his conversion rate he is easily a 20 plus a season player.

Looks like we’re going to have some quality options in attack, especially when Jota returns next month (fingers crossed). If he doesn’t get the goals we expect, others will. I think he will score plenty but it’s good that we’re building depth to not be totally reliant on it.

Not sure if this makes sense, but its the way he msses them in comparison with those other 2. You always felt there was somethng special lying underneath with those two not sure I feel the same about Darwin.

His stats so far are decent, his performances have been decent, he looks decent. What I don’t really get is the proclamations about his brilliance or how he’s world beater in the making. They seem as ridiculous to me as the muppets on Twitter claiming he’s a joke/flop etc.

It’s the potential he clearly has. He already has lots of good chances and is already scoring to a decent rate.

The stuff he is good at already is harder to impossible to learn e.g his pace and physical stature.

The stuff he’s got to improve on is teachable. Technically, he could be better but as an example, look at how a young Jordan Henderson became a much much stronger player technically as he matured at Liverpool.

One other thing that’s noticeable about Darwin so far, is that he has a bit of a habit of striking the ball early, sometimes when he actually has more time to take another touch that perhaps brings himself closer to goal or a slightly better shooting position.

If he improves his first touch and his link up play, he will be a very complete forward who can play centrally and out wide. That’s really hard to find nowadays.

I said after City game that he needs more composure in front of goal. If the could convert a decent % of the chances he gets he would be a fantastic player.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah - I know what you mean. He is a lot earlier in his development than the other two were.

It's composure he needs to improve, I don't see him improving technically, that doesn't even bother me that much, he's just not that type of player. He's all about pace, power and relentless drive, similar to Haaland. Both find themselves in amazing positions in every game, the difference is composure in front of goal.

He is 80% there, he just needs to develop a bit more subtlety to his finishing.
A slight turn to suggest he's placing it one side and wrong foot the keeper.
                          It will come.

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Look at his Benfica goals on youtube.

They are almost all headers and shots in the box. Those are all hit straight. All the goals he misses running in at an angle where he should be curling it around the keeper, I dont think he has scored one like that before. That is why I dont think his technique is that good.

I can only comment in what I see, and Im not seeing a player who is a great finisher, and I dont think he ever will be. He can still bag us 20 a season and cause chaos, but he is going to scuff a few and he certainly not going to turn into Suarez
