Excited to see Diaz and Nunez interchange and swap positions - it's almost as if we had a plan when buying them

The expectations on this guy are bordering on ridiculous. He's expected to be Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe all in one every time he touches the ball
No wonder half of you are disappointed every game."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

I hope that’s not aimed at me as I’m a big fan & have been very supportive of him ?Originally posted by Harv View PostThe expectations on this guy are bordering on ridiculous. He's expected to be Messi, Ronaldo and Mbappe all in one every time he touches the ball

Think you could even remove the at times bit.
He came into a misfiring team in a country he just moved to, had an early self inflicted set back with the suspension, and still is getting goals at a 1 in 2 rate in all comps and his goal scoring and assist getting is even better when you look at how few minutes he has played.
If what we have seen so far is part of his settling in period, the fully settled in him may well be something a tad tasty on the pitch.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

You don't want to judge him in this current Uruguay side, as they are so negative and the service is terrible but he has struggled. When he did get the ball, his touch, passing and decision making in the last 2 games has been way off.
He has a specific skillset, he is aggressive, a willing runner, quick, good in the air and has a nice strike of a ball. His passing, touch, general hold up play and decision making are his real weaknesses, some he can improve on and others ... well you either have or you have not. Seems a very emotional dude but I do think that's just built into the Uruguayan's and that is what makes them so competitive. As I have said previously on this thread, he is never going to be a technically gifted, composed, classy type forward but that doesn't mean he won't score alot of goals.

I think most of what you have said I agree with, but I still think you've stereotyped him a bit. I think he is a bit more skilful and technical than you're giving him credit for. His last few games for us showed that IMO, his all round play in those games was very good.

I can see both points, He does have it in him to be more skilfuul and technical but i imagine we will see more misplaced passes and terrible control than good.
But on the flipside, Still think he will be a cracking but frustrating player for us._____________________________________

Just to put his misplaced passing etc into context a little bit and only using attackers.
His pass completion with us in all comps is currently at 74%.
Salah in all comps this season is at 76%
Diaz is at 81%
Firmino is at 79%
Jota is at 60%
TAA is at 77%
Mane was at 78% last season and 76% the season before.
So Nunez is not all that far off the level of most of our attackers.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
