Hermes Franca Vs. Spencer Fisher has the potential to be one of the fights of the year, if anyone wants to see a good scrap.
Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, Anderson Silva, Rampage Jackson and Mirko Crocop are all fighting on the 3rd of Feburary as far as i can see in what looks like a very impressive line up.

Cro Cop is one of the better PRIDE fighters.

Crop Cop is the Best Fighter in the World at any weight division, he would literally kick the **** out of any man alive today bar none, any style, big or small and has done many times, I think he is the current Open weight K-1 World Champion and for me is the most impressive fighter I have ever seen. I have seen every single UFC from 1 right through to 66 and if Crop Cop is still in good nick he will plough through everybody like a hot knife through butter.

There is a reason Joe Rogan said it Feels like Christmas all over again, Joe knows his stuff, Cro Crop is simply amazing. The only fighter I have ever seen who I have felt can really hang with Cro Crop is Chuck but I think they are different weight class's for Cro Crop it would not matter but Chuck would need all the help he could get.

Quintin Jackson on the other hand is more hype than fighter, I think he would match up to most fighters in the UFC as I think Pride figthers generally are superior but against Chuck which seems likely he is going to get his head kicked in.

Overall the standard of the cards in the UFC of late has been getting a lot better and the standard of fighters also has greatly improved. UFC 66 was excellent, great fights, well done to the Honorary Mad Irish Man The Dean of Mean Jardine .. Amazing result for him. Thought the Stopage against Ortiz was a bit premature as Chuck seemed to be hitting his arm, but truth be told Ortiz did not look like causing a upset through out the fight.

Anybody know if there was a Pride event over the Christmas Newyear ?? Just got back from my vacation .. so missed out .. dont tell me the results just the name of the event and I'll "obtain" it from the internet

I dont rate Silva to much or put another way dont like watching him fight. Cro Crop can beat anyone and is probally the only man who can beat Fedor.

Strange how Cro Cop has moved to UFC before having a rematch with Fedor.

Fedor is the top MMA heavy weight. No question.

Cro Cop is a very, very good fighter but he's no Fedor.

I dont know, I respect them both equally as fighters, I think Cro Crop would edge but I can see why you might sway Fedors way, one thing is for certain they can both kick the **** out of anything the UFC can offer

I think Fedor would beat Cro-Cop just as easily as he did in their first fight. No one has even come close to beating him and his hand injury is the only reason why Cro-Cop won the open weight G.P.
Cro-Cop is a great signing for the UFC though. Finally somebody can take the heavy weight title off of PoopyPants Sylvia (yes, he shat him self in the octagon once!).

In a side note, has anyone seen that Randy Couture is coming out of retirement for a fight agaist Poopypants in March? Given Randys problems against larger opposition in the past (Josh Barnett, Rico Rodrigez) i don't think he has much of a chance.

Hmmmmm not to sure what to make of this news. I agree with you about Couture getting his ass kicked in this fight. I wonder what his motivation is for returning?

A final big payday and the chance to retire as the champ. As for Sylvia, it's a no win situation. If he loses, he loses his belt, if he wins then everyone will hate him for beating a legend and he'll get his head caved in by Cro-Cop's deadly left head kick instead!

Tell you what I would not count Randy out in that fight, by far one of the most cleverest fighters ever to grace the Matt, Unfortunattly Tims sprawl is pretty tight for a big fella. I think the way crack Silva is to take it inside and then onto the matt and well smash his face in.

Give him credit though he is a lot better than people think hes just not pretty to watch

I don't count Randy out, if he can get the takedown then it will be very interesting, but even then Syvia is very difficult to ground and pound effectively, he's just to damned tall to reach him with strikes from the guard. The way i see it Poopypants will circle away from Randy and use his reach advantage to jab his way to another decision in a 5 round snoozefest. He really is the least entertaining champ in UFC history

Yeah I would have to agree with that. Mate can we drop the PP knickname its not a good visual image.

Yeah Silva is good on the ground as well, but like I said Randy is one very clever mother ****er. Think he would most likley throw a lot of fakes and get him thinking or basically treble bluff him. MMA is much like High Level poker, top practitioners know all the tricks of the trade and sometime the most sophisticated move is the most basic. If it was me I would chop his lead leg away, one glaring weakness he still has is he is not as mobile on his feat as a smaller man. Leg kick him till he drops, They do this a lot more regularly in Japan,, You can here the SNAP as some of these guys blast the others guys leg .. Like getting hit with a crowbar

Was there any Pride events on over Christmas ? I have a suspicion the Bushido Finals were on but I am not sure .. cant seem to find any obvious torrents .. But I am sure there was a PRIDE EVENT on New Years Eve aswell as 66

Crocop is getting paid an absolute fortune to fight in the UFC. we are talking $millions last year he was taking bookings to visit gym's. I doubt that will be the case anymore if he was doing that for financial reasons, he admitted himself he couldnt believe the money he was being offered. UFC could have got him for much less and are offering him stupid money.
