It annoys me how some MMA fighters can consider themselves fighters when they can't even throw a decent punch or kick.

Interested to see how Jackson does in UFC though. His career has been a bit patchy success wise but I love his whole character image. Too bad Wanderlei Silva and Shogun kicked his arse in Pride. Jackson's slam v Arona at Critical Countdown 2004 was awesome though.

You guys seen much of "Shogun" Rua?
      Nope. Tell us more.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Trains with the Chute Boxe Academy where Pride Middleweight champ Wanderlei Silva trains too. He was hailed as the next big thing and the next W. Silva. Very exciting fighter. Won the 2005 Middleweight GP. He beat Ricardo Arona in the final who pulled off an upset by defeating Silva in the semi.

At Pride he is 11-1. His only loss was to Mark Coleman where he had to pull out because he broke his arm on a takedown. Was out for 7 months but has come back with 3 good wins again. He's only 25 I think.

Superb fighter. Here's some highlights from the 05 MW GP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPEkI4N6e-U

On CroCop, check out this fight with W. Silva at the 2006 Openweight GP semi final. Awesome KO. Those kicks are why he is so deadly. Look at how lethal his punches are too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXG18TJFI2Q

Shogun is a solid fighter, but has lost a lot of his explosive nature and is not the most exciting fighter to watch these days. Good Fighter all the same, I thought is Pride record was not as good as 11-1 perhaps I am getting him confused with someone else but I was sure he went through a bad patch a year ago .

You just got to give it up for Chuck, most dangerous hands in the business. He made Tito look very ordinary and he just puts guys to sleep. I would have loved to see him and W. Silva fight.

Actually here is my dream Fight card

              Chuck Liddel V W Silva
Cro Cop V Tim Silva (just to see him get beat up)
              Arloski V Fedor
Gomo V a Different UFC Fighter each round - watch them all get the **** kicked out of them.

Hmmm, maybe you are thinking of someone else. Shogun had an excellent 05. Very succesfull. Start of 06 he fell and broke his arm v Mark Coleman and came back at Final Conflict Absolute and has won all his fights since.

Also anyone seen much of this guy, fights in the UK so you might of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce30XajgqiI

Zelg Galesic, has been signed by Pride, middleweight but no fight announced yet. Nicknamed 'lil-crocop'.

Actually read an interview with CroCop and he said his contract with UFC is for 6 fights not 2 years as reported. He said it's not totally impossible for him to fight the 6 with in the year and come back to fight Fedor at Shockwave 07.

Imagine if Mirko could become champ then have a UFC champ v Pride champ event. Would be awesome!

                      nice compilation of him here:Fedor
Seems very well rounded, not just in body shape.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Yep, slams, submissions and even striking. He can do it all. The best in MMA at the moment IMO. CroCop is still my favourite though because I love his style.

Mirko CroCop - Here comes the Hammer article on UFC.com: http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=4289

I saw Sylvia fight for the first time last night on some DVDs my friend gave me. Fought some guy called "Cabbage" and he punched him silly. Cabbage didn't look good at all though. How good is Sylvia really?

Arlovski is a better fighter, despite his defeat to Sylvia IMO.
Silvia got lucky, very lucky in that one, he was well and truley rocked and was lucky to survive before freakishly knocking out Arlovski.
Sylvia is a big bloke and has heavy hands. not the most technical, but you cant afford to go asleep fighting him as Arlovski proved.

Silvia is a very technical fighter and just huge, he is a ****ing bore thats his problem, he has an amazing sprawl, very solid ground game for such a big man, very strong on the clinch, can knock people out, but he is just very effective, not a crowd pleaser and is a bit cumbersome.

Silvia is good but he is the most unpopular champion the UFC has ever had, he has zero charisma and it seems on the surface is not very agressive. We like are fighters mad as a brush and hes just a big softy

Haha. Fedor is a bit like that. Well in the ring he is awesome and brutal. But he reminds me of Drago from Rocky. Very emotionless and he's got this stare about him like Drago. "I will break you."

Up to UFC 42 at the moment. Long way back but I've got plenty to watch.

Yeah Fedor in some ways is similar but he looks like he could kill 5 people before tea time and not skip a beat, when I say Kill people I mean shoot them with a shotgun
