      What did ya think Kurt?
Personally I was dissapointed with the lack of quality that Crocop was up against. UFC would want to be carefull with him, the only reason he is fighting with them is for the money on the table, His heart is still in Japan, because he is the type of fighter who loves a good scrap. Not a fight every 5 months against some no hoper. He genuinely loves beating people up, but not like that. As he said himself, he is not used to people running away from him.
Anderson Silva, a class act, although i was worried for a little bit when he was under a ground a pound, no doubt Franklin was taking notes there. But what a triangle he got Lutter in, who, if he had made the weight, could have possibly walked out as the new middle weight champion. His head was never right. but on the ground, despite being tapped oout, Silva was there for the taking.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I thought UFC 67 was pretty poor. The CRO-COP fight was a total non-starter. I'm surprised that Sanchez lasted as long as he did.

The Jackson vs Eastman fight was decent but nothing great and the Silva vs Lutter fight was a huge let down given that Lutter failed to make the weight.

I'm wondering how CRO-COPs contract iis structured. He's supposed to have signed a 6 fight deal.

Does he receive say 50k per fight for the 6 fights or does he receive say 50k for his first fight and then it goes up after each fight?

Has he been guaranteed money? If so what is the incentive for him to fight some of the harder hitting heavyweights?

Also who makes the matches in the UFC? Is it entirly possible that CRO-COP could completed his six fight deal without ever having a heavyweight title fight? How much face would UFC loose if CRO-COP wins the title after his third or fourth fight and then walks back to PRIDE as the undefeted PRIDE champion?

Cro cop is getting millions for his 6 fights, and thats not elaborating at all. He has spoken of his supprise at the money being thrown at him and mentioned millions of $ for his 6 fights. not sure how many million though.
I am guessing Dana has a say in who fights who, i could be wrong, but im thinking he and the owners have a say.
Interesting about CroCop walking back to pride, it wont happen anytime soon though, maybe if pride pull the finger out and start making more money it could happen. UFC need to throw some decent fighters at CroCop, would like to see Arlovski taking him on, he is a decent striker for CroCop to test himself against.

Just saw it now. Had a UFC night at my friends house and we watched it not knowing the result.

Felt sorry for Eddie Sanchez. Thought he had a chance LMAO. He didn't realize that Mirko is simply WORLD CLASS. I was surprised at Mirko though. Was a bit slow, my friends are UFC nuts and hadnt seen CroCop before but I was hyping him up and after they were raving about him. I told them he didn't even get out of first gear. I was expecting more left high kicks but being his first fight in the UFC I got the feeling he was a tad cautious.

            Go Mirko!!

Ohh Sanchez knew al about CroCop and didn't underestimate him mate, notice how sanchez for the duration of the fight kept making a lateral movement to his left and Crocop's right to avoid his left high kick. He had a game plan, one which we could see others copying, although i'd like to see anyone who employs this tactic have decent striking abilty. Sanchez striking was the worst display of striking I have seen in the UFC yet. He never looked like hurting Crocop despite having some opportunities to catch him on the jaw.
Arlovski V Crocop would be far more entertaining, I wasn't overly impressed b Crocop, partly because he wasnt up against a suitable fighter, But surely his next opponents should be much better competition than this 24yr old novice, not sure how he had an 8 + 0 record before the fight.

                  Sanchez was ****ting bricks.

Mirko is too quick on his feet to get KOed himself. Randleman got lucky against him in Pride.

If you go toe to toe with Mirko he'll just wait for the right moment to put you on your arse and the fight will be over. Fedor had the right game plan, you need to press the action v Mirko and overpower him on the ground.

Still, it only really took Fedor to get him on the ground and overpower him. Waterman tried it and Mirko defended everything, got on his feet and the fight was over in a few seconds. Nogueira who'se a submission specialist was being dominated by Mirko and was lucky Mirko made a mistake and he armbared him.

So I think the best way to beat him is to take him to the ground and press the action. If guys try and go toe to toe with him then he'll take them out. He can take a hit too can old Mirko, him and Fedor exchanged some corkers. Plus he's hard to hit anyway, Mirko is too quick on his feet. You can tell he has a kickboxing background.

I thought it was funny when Sanchez was on his knees and Mirko grabbed him around the neck. You could see he was tempted to knee to the head. Then it was like he remembered he couldn't do it in UFC.

Interesting how he used the Pride anthem as his music too. I wonder what message he is trying to give out?

Was a bad night for the UFC alright, was very dissapointed with he nights action. Was hyed up so much te didn't deliver much except a nervous debut by Jackson which eventually came god, a one sided debut for crocop. The main title fight with the chalenger not making the weight.
One positive that came from the night was Anderson silva, I love his attitude and look forward to his next fight. People talk about crocop about being one of th best fighters out there, this bloke is along side him IMO.

Did you guys think Silva's elbows were illegal though? I thought you couldn't elbow with the tip?

Borderline, the arguement was it was coming from the side. not directly down onto the top of his head, although it might aswell have been from straight above.
Kinda reminds me of the earlier fight where it was alleged that one fighter got a knee into the head. Replays suugest he hit the shoulder, but it waould make you think how could someone go down like that from a shoulder hit.

Caught some UFC myself last night. My missus was hounding me to turn over but when they said Mirko was on I begged her to leave it on - and the good lass that she is relented. She loves boxing but hates UFC.

Anyway - couldn't tell much about Mirko - the other lad was running away and it was hard to look good. TBH I'm not up to speed with UFC tactics anyway so I may need educating a little by you good chaps.

I don't know hardly any UFC fighters except Ortiz, Liddel and some brazilian lad who's name escapes me.... anyway - who are the champions in the division with Mirko - and how long do you suspect it will be before he gets a stab at the belt?

                            H

                            PS Mirko's speedo's rock !!!

Tim "the maniac" Silvia is the champ at Mirko Crocops weight division. The is also Arlovski, Brandon Vera and a few others.
Crocop can make light heavyweight, although i dont think thats going to happen at the moment. Think he will go for the heavyweight crown.
The Brazilizn is not Royve Gracie by any chance?.
The lad you seen running away was trying to avoid crocop's biggest weapon, his left high kick.
Was a big dissapointment that night actually, was expecting more from the fights, especially Sanchez (crocops opponent)
fingers crossed though, crocop will come up against a decent fighter in his next fight.
