Hatton vs Urango - who wins?

Just a quick poll to see who thinks the winner will be. Might be an idea before any upcoming big fights.

Hatton is defo the favourite, with experience on his side and a huge amount of ability and heart, but I have a sneaky feeling that Juan may upset the applecart in this one, so I am going for Juan to win in 11 rounds, in a barnstorming fight.

Hatton will get Urango out of there by the tenth. I've probably not seen enough of Urango to make that assesment but I just have a feeling that Hatton will be to much for him.

I think Ricky has the Castillo fight in his sights and will do all it takes to make sure that fight happens.

Rickey has to be the favourite, there are very few fighters out there that Hatton would be a genuine underdog to, imho. I was listening to Hatton being interviewed of late, and he seems to be focusing beyond this fight already, he kept talking about his options for fights after this one, and was talking about Castillo and Mayweather. I'm a firm believer in leaving the talk about future fights until after the one you have in front of you.

I have seen a lot of Urango down the years, and really fancy his chances of getting a shock win or a draw in this one.

I think conditioning will be the decider in this one, Urango will be in tip top condition for this one, it boils down to how Rickey has prepared himself imo.

Hatton looks in great shape at the moment. He also looks very focused. As for his comments about future fights, I think that shows how much Ricky and his team rate Urango. i.e. not much. That could prove to be very dangerous but I still think that we'll see the real Ricky Hatton on the 20th and not the one we saw against Luis Collazo.

If Hatton boxes and doesn't steam forward like he has in his last 2 fights then I honestly think that he'll wear this guy down and get the stoppage. Or should I say "That's what I hope!!"

A focused Hatton has few peers in his division to be honest. If he wins, and the odds are favouring him to do so without too much trouble, it would be a very good win im my opinion, and one that the general public would not give him enough credit for, as Juan is a genuine live opponent.

I just have a little voice saying that Juan might nick it, a little niggling feeling that is telling me the bookies have their odds badly wrong for this fight.

Juan can box and he can fight, so regardless of what mindset they approach this fight with, I think it will be a humdinger. If both come to box, then we will get a technical treat, if one comes to fight and the other to box, there will be a nice contrast of styles, but if both come to fight, we could have a fight that matches Ward-Gatti 1 on our hands.

IMO Ricky looking past this fight is not a good thing, he needs to be totally focused on this fight only. Just ask Rafa.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Ok at last count it is 5 to one in favour of Hatton. Any last minute changes in people's predictions? Any new predictions to be added?

I'm sticking with Urango to surprise a lot of people with how good he is. And I am still giving big kudos to Hatton for making this fight happen. Been impressed with the fighters that he is choosing to meet, especially when he could have taken easier options without criticism.

It's going to be a cracker methinks.

Ive gone for Hatton. I think that it's a fight that could well go into the late rounds though. Haven't seen anything of Urango before but he's got a good reputation and his record so far is pretty good. He also looks to be in superb shape, as does Hatton. The big advantage I think Hatton's got though is that he's fought against some very decent opponents and I just wonder if the step up might be too much for Urango.

Either way, I'm predicting a real barnstomer.
