    If you're going to poison his food, why not do it properly thus negating the need to manually strangle him. I don't get that bit.

    I also don't accept that "Woolmer was about to blow the whistle on match fixing".
    If Bob Woolmer suspected anyone of match fixing he would report it to the ICC and the police straight away.
    If someone felt they needed to murder him to silence him about match fixing he must have had some pretty concrete evidence. Strange that he didn't mention any of it or even hint at it in the 2 emails he sent before his death (1 to his wife and 1 to the head of the PCB). If he had such concrete evidence I believe he would have contacted the ICC immediately upon discovering it. He wasn't an idiot, he would have known the risks of messing with those people.

    I'm at a loss to explain his murder but I do think there could be something in the 'person disgruntled by the result' theory

      Maybe they got the dosage wrong? He was Big guy. Something would be needed to prevent him from putting up a fight. That's what In find strange. One would expect the room to be wrecked. Strangulation is not a subtle way to kill someone.

      I think Woolmer would not have wanted the World Cup to be spoiled by revelations of Match Fixing during it. He respected the game and would hate to spoil it's crowning moment.

      A disgruntled fan doesnt make sense. Why blame the coach. Surely the players are more to blame and more responsible

            Pakistan duo quizzed over Woolmer

            Pakistan's cricket captain and the assistant coach are being interviewed by Jamaican police investigating the murder of Bob Woolmer.

            Team spokesman Pervez Mir said police had asked to talk to Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed.

            "Those talks are going on now. We'll have to wait for the outcome," he said.

            It is not yet clear why the pair - senior members of the Pakistan squad - are being questioned but correspondents say it is a bizarre twist in the case.

            Pakistan's players had already given police DNA samples and fingerprints as part of the probe into Mr Woolmer's murder and were preparing to fly home.

              This just gets stranger and stranger.
              Seeing as one is a assistant coach and the other is captain it is entirely conceivable both have been in his hotel room discussing tactics. Perhaps the elimination printing has shown this and they've been asked about their presence in his room. That would be a logical explanation as opposed to the stupid news stories.

                A very smiley Inzi has just been live on Sky News saying that the only reason he was questioned again was because they missed out a question the first time they questioned him. ??????????????????????

                He's also saying the team are about to go home and that it is a 'joke' that anyone from the Pakistan team was involved in the murder.

                    If I'm not mistaken the police has previously ruled out any Pakistani Cricketer or Official being Directly involved?

                      The Deputy Chief Commissioner spoke earlier at another press conference and claimed the interviews with Inzy, Mushtaq and Tarik Ali were "standard procedures" and simply to "clear up one or two ambiguities, which have now been cleared up - and they're free to go home".

                      It's a confusing puzzle. I just hope they nail the killer(s) ASAP.

                        I was reading in one of the newspapers that this could be linked to Cronje's death as there are rumours that pilot error was not the reason for his death

                              Apparently they checked the DNA and prints taken from the Pakistanis and none matched the DNA and prints found in Woolmers room

                                Still doesn't mean they weren't involved. An acceptance that those whose DNA and fingerprints were found are the only ones involved is foolhardy. If this is a murder then it points at present to someone Woolmer knew.

                                There is already too much info in the public domain.
