If you're going to poison his food, why not do it properly thus negating the need to manually strangle him. I don't get that bit.
I also don't accept that "Woolmer was about to blow the whistle on match fixing".
If Bob Woolmer suspected anyone of match fixing he would report it to the ICC and the police straight away.
If someone felt they needed to murder him to silence him about match fixing he must have had some pretty concrete evidence. Strange that he didn't mention any of it or even hint at it in the 2 emails he sent before his death (1 to his wife and 1 to the head of the PCB). If he had such concrete evidence I believe he would have contacted the ICC immediately upon discovering it. He wasn't an idiot, he would have known the risks of messing with those people.
I'm at a loss to explain his murder but I do think there could be something in the 'person disgruntled by the result' theory
