Just to add to that. Taylor is fighting Spinks in May so there's no way he could fight in July.

When I think about it that must have been the most horrible night of boxing EVER!!!

Warren had three meal tickets in there tonight and all 3 fought journeymen. 2 of his meal tickets were defending world championships.

What will he care though? He's managed to con 35,000 people into paying upwards of 35 quid a ticket for it.

what an anti climax that was, as you say Scot, just a pity they could put their lads up against soe decent competition, people dont want to watch boxers etting their education and not taking chancers against no hopers, they want to see real scraps.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

That's out of date already then as he has a fight against Cory Spinks lined up at Middleweight for May 19th, and the cancelled fight with Sergio Mora (yet another fighter from the Contender tv show) is being resceduled for later in the year. Edison Miranda and Kelly Pavlik are to fight in an elimination bout in late July, with the winner contracted to fight Taylor at middleweight early next year.

All this was updated only a week or so ago. So the earliest Taylor and Calzaghe could meet would be the summer/Autumn of 2008.

The Mora fight was scrapped completely I heard because they couldn't agree on a venue...

Taylor talked about relinquishing his titles in the article I read. If he does that he doesn't have to take a mandatory.

One thing I've learned about boxing is that if the money is right and the fight has a high profile then the belts don't matter.

People remember fighters that fought the best at the time like Tito Trinidad, de la Hoya, Mayweather, Ali etc... etc... and not what belts were on the line in the fight.

Enzo aint no superstar. Put him in with Haye, Bell, Mormeck etc... and we'll see what he's made of.

Talks have resumed again for the Mora fight, and with the Spinks fight taking place on May 19th, I cannot see him taking a fight with Calzaghe in July.

The belt is a massive deal for Warren fighters, it is Warren's mealticket to promote "World" title fights. I would expect Hopkins, Jones jnr, or similar to be wheeled out as Calzaghe's summer fight.

I agree that a fight won't happen between the two but people who have little knowledge of boxing would no doubt belive Warrens comments.

Hopefully now there's nowhere else to go for Calzaghe, what's the point of him fighting another nobody/bum?

Plus he should fight a big name while he still can, he must know it's dumb if he waits til he's aged even more before fighting a Kessler/Taylor...on that note I bet it'll be B-Hop next

They were two absolute joke fights and 35,000 Welshmen were conned tonight. Ridiculous.

Neither Manfredo or the bum that Khan fought threw a ****ing punch between them.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
