    Cricket County Championship

My team went from Hero to Zero last season and now are languishing in the 2nd Division - Notts -
Looks like our Captain will be a few weeks before he's back as well.

    Anyone else follow it?

I know it's overlapping with the World Cup and the like so I don't know how much interest there is.

I've lost a lot of interest in County cricket. The standard is **** - especially Derbyshire's standard.

I'm not familiar with the County Cricket setup, but would like to know which one of the current England Team can be regarded as a Product of County Cricket?

I find in SA the really good players are taken out of the provincial environment at a young age and given specialist training, with those that remain having very little chance of playing for SA. IMO they miss quite a few stars, Kevin Pietersen being the obvious example. To compound the Problem in SA is that race is often the main criteria and not Talent

Obviously ignoring the Race issue, does the same happen in England? Do all player playing County Cricket have an equal chance of playing for England? Or are some players identified early on for specialist training?

They were awful last year - no wins at home for months!

I was a member there when I was in the 6th form - when they shared the ground with the Cobblers

Sometimes go over for the Twenty20 games. They should do better now they've got rid of Wessels.

I can only get to 1 group Twenty20 game this year, going on holiday (to South Africa, incidentally ).

Will probably go to a fair few 1 dayers too.

Yes, but it is still Old Trafford in my eyes. I did like Lancs when Wasim Akram played for them
