      Watch as former world boxing champ and the greatest boxer japan has ever produced, Yousuke Nishijima is dismantled by average MMA fighter Phil Baroni. This is pretty much what would happen if Mayweather and any decent MMA fighter were to lock horns.

      MMA fighters don't get the credit they deserve for training in 3 different sports. Wrestling, Boxing/Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu!
      I would always expect an MMA fighter to beat a boxer because of how they fight. A boxer only uses his hands so how could they be expected to defend against kicks, submission moves etc etc.

        I love a good boxing match, but I have to admit, i've been more excited by the MMA of late, just seems to be more happening in the fights, lots a great styles, some excellent strikers and submission experts. The stand up is my favourite part of MMA though.

          I enjoy both sports in eauqal measure but I'm more of a boxing fan than an MMA fan.

          I don't see why there has to be one or the other because despite being combat sports they're both quite different.

          It's okay to like both. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

            I was thinking the same mate, although I gave up on Boxing about 6 years ago due to the constant match fixing, dodgy score cards and complete lack of a Heavy weight division

            Just watch the DelaHoya fight ... brutal ... no respect.. pretty boring and thats the biggest show right now ???

              True, there does have to be no favorite, I enjoy both a heck of alot.
              I enjoy the challenge, the adrenalin, the tension and the technique that the martial arts offers, be it boxing, or mixed martial arts.

                    I don't think the fight has any chance of happening as Mayweather is all talk. I'd love to see Sherk destroy him though, teach him a lesson.

                      The two sports don't mix. A highly skilled boxer like Mayweather would beat any MMA fighter in a boxing match but an MMA fighter would beat Floyd inside the octagon.

                      The fighters have different skills and I expect that if Floyd was ever to fight an MMA expert it would be under strict queensberry rules. No way is he going to step inside the Octagon and risk being taken down and submitted in a triangle choke.

                        Is MMA similar to cage fighting?

                        I was dumped recently by this woman who dumped me for a cage fighter. Needless to say, I didn't put up much of a protest

                          Yes. Cage fighting, UFC, Pride etc... are all pretty much the same. It's probably best for your features that you said nowt.
