. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

What a shocking decision by Dravid to not enforce the follow-on. What the hell was he thinking? Ridiculous decision. If they lose now or even draw he may well lose his captaincy for that shambles

India were in a very very powerful position. England only had a very very small chance of getting a draw. Then Dravid puts India into bat again when they were already 330 odd runs ahead. He should have forced the follow on and got england out as quickly as possible.
Because IF england start batting around 4-5pm today they are quite capable of batting through last couple of hours today and the rest of tomorrow
The chances of England scoring around 400 or more to win are negligible.

Well I'd say they are good enough but not when they have so many players who are off form, Strauss is having a poor run, Cook is doing OK, Vaughan is struggling for consistency, Pietersen is mentally tired, everyone knows my feelings on Collingwood , Bell is not a number 6 and we have an extremely long tail.

Yeh but this is exactly why people get pissed off with test cricket. Negative play. Whats the point, India are already 1-0 up and there is no way england could have won it this morning. So instead of playing negative and running down the time just go for them and bowl them out
But it dont matter if England get the draw as India will still win the series
I think that's the key point. Bat England out of the game in a runs/time ratio and you win the series.
That is what is important to the team, not this Test match.
Fair play to Dravid
